The proof is in the pudding when it comes to Cantata, an expressive and energetic Pinot that perfectly encapsulates what Central Otago wine is all about.

Rudi Bauer is part of the reason Central Otago is on the Pinot Wine Map so prominently. His Pinot's show great depth of colour with aromas of forest floor, earth and mouth filling flavours of berry and cherry fruits.

The Seresin Leah is a wonderful example of hand-crafted Marlborough Pinot Noir which is sourced from 3 of Seresin's premium vineyard sites; the clay rich hillside Raupo Creek vineyard, the alluvial shingles of the Tatou vineyard and the Home vineyard, which is made up of a variety of Waimakariri type soils of alluvial origin. The wine itself shows a nose of savoury, spicy and earthy aromas with plum, berry and herbal notes. Following is a palate that is both focused and plush with a feminine feel of red fruits, namely strawberry and ripe cherry.

Aroma Attractive aromas of fresh apricot mingle with fresh fig. Palate The palate is full of rich flavours of quince that lead to a salty minerality on the finish

Two vineyards were established in the Bendigo sub-region: The Prophets Rock Home Vineyard and, subsequently, the Rocky Point. Both are steep and elevated, and each is distinctive The Home Vineyard with its rare mix of soils, including schist, clay and chalk, and Rocky Point with its stony ground and almost treacherous slopes. Rich ruby in colour, displaying red berry fruit, spice and floral aromas on the nose leading on to an elegant well-structured, mineral driven palate. The rich aromatics are accompanied by silky tannin and well-balanced acidity leading on to a long finish. This wine will reward cellaring over the next 6-10+ years from vintage.

Energetic, savoury and red fruited. Matured in French oak barriques (20% new) for a period of 12 months with 15% whole bunch inclusion. Red to dark red core with black toned edges and a bright red hue. Fragrant violet led scents of red cherry and winter strawberry fill the nostrils followed by hints of stalky cedar, fresh herbs, forest floor and spice. Delicious red cherry, winter strawberry, cranberry and rhubarb fruits are underpinned by fresh acidity which imparts an energetic feel. Following through the rear are flashes of sour cherry, delicate fresh herb infusions, stalky cedar and spice. Fine, polished tannins with a vibrant, savoury red fruited finish that’s all elegance. Drink over the next 6-8 years. Alc. 13.5%

A classic Fromm Vineyard Pinot Noir, a multi-layered wine, very concentrated without appearing big or heavy, with positive tannin support. At its best it shows a masculine charm with a distinct terroir-related identity, aging superbly.

Oyster Bay Pinot Noir is surprisingly a serious complex Pinot. Intense cherry and gamey, earthy notes are enhanced with quality French oak and the finish is spicy savoury and long. Terrific value.
