For John Hughes, the attraction to Riesling is all encompassing. Growing up on a small vineyard in the Clare Valley, and going on to work with some of the brightest Riesling makers in the country before launching his own venture, John is never far away from his beloved grape. John makes classic Australian styles from carefully selected vineyards with an emphasis on purity and site reflection, as well as German-inspired expressions that balance acidity and sugar with singular precision.

Hentley Farm focuses on producing elegant and complex single-estate and single-block wines reflective of their exceptional piece of Barossan terrior. 'The Marl' takes its name from the fruit grown on red clay loam over marl (a friable earthy deposit consisting of clay and limestone) which reduces the water and nutrient availability producing low crops and rich flavours. With a strong aromatic profile, this straight varietal Grenache punches well above it's weight delivering stunning amounts of blackcurrants and raspberry and a hint of spice on the palate with a soft and balanced finish.

This is delightfully styled, showing sweet cherry, floral, olive and warm spice aromas, leading to a beautifully smooth palate that's rounded and flowing. A lovely expression of the variety with an immediate appeal. At its best: now to 2028

2019 St Hugo Eden Valley Riesling,The vibrant nose offers fragrant fresh lemon/lime blossom, with notes of bath salts.The refined palate is delicate and pure, showing a slaty minerality and a taut line of acidity.Notes of salted lime and citrus rind with a chalky, delicate finish.

Ruby red in colour with lifted aromas of eucalypt and blackberries. The medium to full-bodied palate exudes a lovely early note of caramel balanced with delicious blackberry undertones bound together by fine, velvety tannins. Perfect with Lamb Roast, shanks, ragu or chops. No preservatives to this wine to produce a young, fresh and vibrant red to be consumed in its youth.

A cool moderate summer with consistent flavour development . The season produced rich flavours and ripe tannins. Distinctive Margaret River regional Cabernet Sauvignon aromas, with rich dark fruit flavours. Soft fruit tannins on the finish. Beef casserole or dukkah crusted lamb cutlets. A delicious wine to drink young for its primary fruit charcaters. The wine will gain complexity and smoothness with cellaring 5 to 8 years.
