Ten years marks a significant period in the development of Old Kempton Distillery. Along with Lyn Lark, James Reid and Amelia Hope, we started what was going to be a small craft distillery. Over time, the distillery attracted a few passionate friends who shared our vision. They were welcomed into our family bringing expertise and enthusiasm guiding OKD to what it is today. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful support team to facilitate OKD’s commitment to becoming a true artisan distillery. Aroma: A rich and ever developing aroma with dried fruits (raisins and sultanas), tinned pears, coffee with dark chocolate, orange peel, rich malt, and toasted almonds. Palate: Rich oil, and creamy across the palate with a good balance of both sweet and dry elements (ANZAC biscuits, Seville orange, and oak). Finish: Great mouthfeel with good spread and balance (Gingernut biscuit with spice and toffee). This release marries together spirit distilled at both our original site at Redlands Estate and at our new home at Dysart House, Kempton. Whist our location has changed, the delicate fruit and malt driven spirit that we produce has been consistent across our sites and is central to the style of whisky we produce.

Bottled in 2020. 46% abv. This is a malt whiskey that comes entirely from malted barley that was grown and subsequently distilled in Castilla la Vieja. It is a sister cask of the one bottled several years ago (Bota No.66). Its age is about 16 years, of which the last 12 were in a single vessel that previously housed an excellent old dry Oloroso. It is a unique spirit, since the bota from which it comes has been emptied entirely for this saca. It has not been cold filtered and, following an unbreakable rule for Equipo Navazos, has no added aroma, sweetness or colour.

The Mars Komagatake Single Malt Edition Whisky for 2021 is a true delight for the senses. Togouchi 15 year old, is the newest expression of Chugoku Jozo blending expertise. This blended whisky with a delicate and elegant nose reveals a rich and round texture subtly coated with fruity notes of citrus fruits and yellow fruits, but also spicy notes. On the palate it expresses vanilla sweetness and a fine peat iodine, while in the final it will leave you some notes of dark chocolate and hazel in retro olfaction.
