Cullen, world famous for their Diana Madeline Cabernet Merlot, have introduced another Cab Merlot, a distinguished offshoot of the Langton's classified Diana Madeline. Majority Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot and touch of Petit Verdot gives the wine a luscious, bright cherry flavour with red berries playing their part. Aged in French oak, 40% of which was new, for one year. Delicious to serve with veal, lamb or beef today, but will also reward up to 10 years in the cellar.

Almost blood red, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz in motion, changing and shifting from red scents of currants and cranberries to the black fruits of plum compote and black cherries, before a touch of cedar, leafy herbs and powdery black spices freshen the finish. Mount Horrocks Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of Stephanie Tooles expertise in finding the right balance between fruit richness and oak maturation. Beautifully marrying these two components has given birth to a poised, well-structured, and delicious wine that will keep you wanting more. The nose is a fragrant display of light herbs, fresh mint and red currant aromas with hints of cedar-like oak. The palate boasts of delightfully ripe tannins, and features red currant and other classic dark fruit flavours. This dark and inky Cabernet Sauvignon will definitely blow you away with its complexity, depth and vibrancy. It pairs very well with savoury beef, game meats and cheese.

Michael Fragos grew up in McLaren Vale, and spent 14 years at Tatachilla before taking over at Chapel Hill in 2004. A three-time ‘Bushing King’, Michael has also been named best winemaker on the planet! James Halliday notes that his “wine quality is unfailingly excellent” . This one has an expressive nose of blackcurrant, bay leaf cigar box and chocolate. The palate is medium to full-bodied, beautifully structured, with a powerful complexity, fine-grained tannins, velvety texture and long, long finish.

A purposely early harvest to highlight a fresh red fruit spectrum, naturally lower alcohol, wild ferments, and the use of larger oak for maturation are just some of the techniques employed to make these beautiful food friendly wines. Co-fermentation of the two varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz creates a layered and harmonious style, with unique tannin structure. There is a weightless feel to the palate without compromise to intensity. A mix of forest berries, black tea and aniseed plays on the palate. A classic Australian style worthy of its price.
