Louis Latour Fleurie

The 2023 Louis Latour Fleurie is a stunning example of the renowned Fleurie appellation in France. This vintage showcases the expertise of the Louis Latour winery, known for producing exceptional wines. Upon pouring, the wine reveals a beautiful vibrant ruby color, inviting you to dive into its enticing aromas. On the nose, delicate floral notes of violet and rose intertwine with red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry, giving a sense of freshness and elegance. The palate is equally impressive, with a silky texture and a perfect balance between ripe fruit and acidity. Flavors of red berries, blackcurrant, and a touch of spice linger on the palate, culminating in a long and satisfying finish. This 2023 Louis Latour Fleurie is a true gem, perfect for any wine enthusiast looking to experience the best of French winemaking.

Massolino Dolcetto D'Alba

Drawn from well-sited 2.5 hectares within the Serralunga postcode Massolino's Dolcetto D'Alba has a wonderfully flowing texture for this variety. It's long and refreshing with chalky acidity, in the best Dolcetto manner. Whatever else Dolcetto is, it simply has to be fun and delicious to drink.

Cirillo Shiraz

Red wine artisan, Marco Cirillo, has produced a single vineyard Shiraz with as minimal intervention as possible. Using 90% whole berry and 10% whole bunch as well as natural yeast fermentation without fining or filtering, this Shiraz screams of its terroir. Expressive fruit up front of plums and red berries with small waft of leafy characters. The palate dances across the tongue without hindrance from over use of oak and is a supreme wine for the price.

Mystery Yarra Valley Gamay Deal No. 23

Wine; Red/Garnet in the glass. Fresh picked raspberries, cherry, ripe strawberry, fresh aniseed, cured meats/jamon savoury lift and dried thyme Oregano from Whole bunch. Palate really cool feel, heaps of energy/vibrancy without being overly primary from Carbonic. Heaps of complex layers within. Raspberry, Jamon, cherry and slight cola notes. All the fruit surrounded with more of the dried herbs and ever so slightly savoury notes/kalamata olives. Just the right amount of tannin/grip, Nullarbor type length of flavour and cleans up with great acid line.

Elderton Shiraz

Elderton is one of Australia's great Shiraz producers, year in and year out. Brimming with ripe juicy blood-plum and chocolate flavours, this is almost like Black Forest cake in a bottle!

Pierre-Marie Chermette Beaujolais Origine Vieilles Vignes

The 2017 is a smoky and juicy dark cherry-and-raspberry-noted wine with sappy freshness and a nice, crunchy finish. "The late Marcel Lapierre once said of Beaujolais, Ça se bois sous la douche. (Its a wine you can drink under the shower). While this captures the simple deliciousness of much Beaujolais, it doesnt do justice to the wines being produced by the finest artisans like Pierre-Marie Chermette. Of the wines of Domaine du Vissoux we would be more likely to say, Il est trop bon pour être bu sous la douche! Its too damn good to be drunk in the shower! Beaujolais can be the most joyful, compelling and life-affirming of wines. Yet in the hands of a master it can also be a wonderfully refined, long-lived Burgundy. Domaine du Vissoux is a producer capable of fashioning such wines. This is why their wines can be found in many of Frances finest restaurants and why Vissoux remains the highest-rated Beaujolais producer in the leading French wine guide, Les Meilleurs Vins de France. Owners Pierre-Marie and Martine Chermette were among the first in Beaujolais to use sustainable agricultural practices, shunning the use of any chemicals in the vineyard and encouraging as much life in the soil as possible. They prune hard to keep yields low, harvest by hand when the grapes are fully ripe and regularly carry out green harvests to further reduce the yields and ensure full ripeness for the harvest. The wines are made with minimal intervention: wild yeasts, minimal sulphur additions and no filtering if possible. Ageing is in traditional up-to-the-ceiling, neutral oak casks."

Coulter Wines C1 Adelaide Hills Gamay

Gamay is the extremely attractive grape that makes France’s Beaujolais so very appealing. You don't often see it in Australia but when you do you wonder why. Chris Coulter practices minimum intervention with his Coulter Wines enterprise, sourcing grapes mainly from the Adelaide Hills. This is “… charming and inviting on the nose with raspberry, sweet strawberry, floral and subtle spice aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate offering youthful fruit flavours with silky texture and fine-grained tannins, making it delightfully drinkable.” (Sam Kim Wine Orbit). “… simply a delicious lightweight fresh red, a perfect summer drink. Gentle, supple texture, the wine has crisp acidity and a lingering persistence… a first-class Gamay and will provide pleasure for the next several years.” (Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot).
