Muscats from Rutherglen are made in a style like no other as a result of the unique combination of climate, grape variety, soils and most of all, the reserved stocks and unsurpassed blending skills to create Muscats that are rich, complex and intense.

The De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate is situated in the north-east corner of Victoria, one of the most progressive and diverse viticultural regions in Australia. A renowned Rutherglen sparkling blend, this rich, brooding and fruit driven wine is a wonderful addition to any celebratory occasion. Vibrant red and purple hues framed by soft persistent bubbles. Youthful and fresh with an inviting mixed berry and chocolate aromas, and flavours with a creamy mouthfeel and plush finish. The wine has a balanced residual sweetness with supporting tannin that adds complexity and length.

Christmas cake dark colour, with tinges of olive green at the rim. Thick and viscous in the glass. The aromas combine the impression of great age with tremendous vitality. Deep and brooding, reminiscent of curious characters such as cold tea, leather, tobacco and malt, coupled with pretty honeysuckle and barley sugar notes. Then the flavours, simultaneously almost impossibly sweet, tart and intense. It has rich malt, polished leather, bursts of raisined fruit, vibrant spice and earthy warmth. The initial sweetness gives way to mouth watering acidity and tactile graininess followed by a constantly developing finish that lasts for minutes. Almost overwhelming at first, even the tiniest sip is immensely satisfying and yet decadently moreish.

Hip Sip is matured in old oak barrels, which integrated well with the ripe berry fruits and generous mouth fill on the palate. Its is blended skilfully across a number of vintages to obtain the optimum colour and complexity in taste, sweet and nutty. Ideal as after dinner nips or with cheese platters.

Durif achieves cult-like status among those who enjoy its dense concentrated charm. Intense aromas of dark berry fruits and liquorice notes are perfectly married with a rich and ripe palate.

Oily in colour and viscosity, aromas of dried apricots, sweet dried Muscat grapes and orange peel abound. The palate has a lovely smooth and viscous mouth feel, with rich, caramel, spicy chocolate-coated dry ginger and orange fruit flavours.

Fresh and dry, average of five to eight years. Doesn't exhibit all the typical Flor characteristics, but carries great length, and quite a refreshing finish.

Once called Tokay, this luscious fortified Muscadelle has all the hallmarks of rich toffee and butterscotch with a balance on the palate that is synonymous with Rutherglen fortifieds.
