The more common claim was created at Freds Club, a Soho bar in the late 80s by bartender Dick Bradsell, for a young model who wanted something to wake me up and f**k me up. With many variations, this perfect recipe combines Grey Goose Vodka, Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liquor, Espresso Coffee Extract, and sugar cane. They clearly embraced it, given how the infamous Mad Men had such a taste for it 80 years later in the 1960s Manhattan advertising scene. The Old Fashioned has had a makeover or two over its time.
