This Pinot Noir comes from the Hazeldene Vineyard in Gladysdale, a north-facing site at 180 metres elevation. Planted in 1998 with the renowned MV6 clone, the vineyard’s red volcanic soils and cool climate produce wines of precision, purity and depth. A vibrant Pinot Noir with lifted aromas of red berries, florals and a hint of mountain herbs. Layers of boysenberry, plum and subtle bramble add depth, while a touch of carbonic lift from whole-bunch fermentation enhances complexity. The palate is supple and expressive, with juicy red berries, just-ripe raspberries and plums gliding across fine, silky tannins. An elegant elasticity in texture brings both grace and persistence. Bannockburn is spicy with well intergraded savoury oak and great acidity backbone. The varietal flavours such as, raspberries, strawberries and red cherries fruits lingers with a faint hint of forest floor on the palate with well supporting tannins. Pale, straw colour with insinuations of green. Overt, ripe varietal fruit characters on the nose - pineapple, citrus and nectarine derived are from the warm vintage conditions. Mineral characters, orange blossom and almond meal along with some lees derived creaminess are all balanced within this multi-dimensional palate.

Chardonnay by Farr is made in an elegant, Burgundian style with fine focused acidity, linear structure, creamy mealy texture, and well integrated oak. Complex and multi-layered, it is consistently one of Australias finest Chardonnays.
