Alex Russell is turning out some really exceptional wines under his new Russell & Suitor label. We're really enjoying the Franca's Vineyard wines ... they're juicy, delicious and very very moreish. This Chardonnay is a prime example - it would be absolutely stellar with a cheeseboard at sunset.

On the palate, mouth filling honeyed spiced poached pears & granny smith apple skin, balanced with brilliant crisp acidity. It has great length and a vibrant minerality with a subtle grapefruit tang. Vibrant, floral, citrus. As a stand alone, Pinot Grigio is always a great appertif. But you can never go wrong pairing with fish or shellfish - think seafood risotto or even sashimi. For John Hughes, the attraction to Riesling is all encompassing. Growing up on a small vineyard in the Clare Valley, and going on to work with some of the brightest Riesling makers in the country before launching his own venture, John is never far away from his beloved grape. John makes classic Australian styles from carefully selected vineyards with an emphasis on purity and site reflection, as well as German-inspired expressions that balance acidity and sugar with singular precision.

Elegant and refreshing with beautiful aromas of stone fruit, lifted peach, zesty pineapple and delicate citrus notes. Crisp and fresh mandarin jumps from the palate followed by pithy lemon. A zingy finish with lingering acidity.

Moonlighters captures the very essence of the RedHeads concept. Right at the beginning, when RedHeads started in the McLaren Vale, a handful of dedicated, rule-breaking, young winemakers, with a day job at the big corporations, would arrive at RedHeads studio early evening, down a cold beer, then start on crafting a ‘real’ wine, with all the unbridled passion you’d expect from the newly qualified winemaking elite. The RedHeads Moonlighters White is a beautiful blend of rich Chardonnay and aromatic Viognier, with a full nose featuring struck match characters and summer stone fruit. The textured palate hints at apricot nectar, spice and subtle nutty notes, balanced by a mouthwatering acidity.

This classy white is just made for lazy summer drinking. Those lovely luscious grassy, citrussy Semillon characters on the crisp, mouthwatering palate are simply sublime with fresh seafood. Try it for yourself and see.
