La Belle Pierre Vin de Pays Blanc
La Belle Pierre are contemporary wines from earthy Southern France; grown and cared for traditionally yet they embrace technology in the winery to offer a good quaffing, uncomplicated yet juicy wine.
Domaine de Chevalier Blanc Pessac-Léognan
Domaine de Chevalier uses traditional methods when making their flavoursome white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Fermentation occurs in oak casks and is then aged for 18th in oak, some of which is new. This practice was abandoned by many in Graves, only to be (rightfully) regenerated to allow wines of substance and character to be produced once again. Chevalier's Blanc is a wine that is taut and restrained that opens up over a six to eight year period to reveal a wine of supreme delicacy.
Abbesse Sauvignon Blanc
Chateau d'Yquem
The harvest began very early, on the 5th September, and lasted 9 weeks. This made is possible to reflect all the diversity of a year in which both flowering and veraison were very spread out. Picking began especially early at Yquem in 2014. Some 25% of the crop was brought in before the 15th of September, providing a rare and precious background of acidity.
Blanc de Lynch Bages
Château Cres Ricards Oenothera
This Estate was created in 1960, at the place known as Crès Ricards, in the village of Ceyras. In 2010 Jean-Claude Mas acquired the 27 ha (69 acres) belonging to the Château, extending the estate to 42 ha in 2013. He was fascinated by the fantastic terroir of the Terrasses du Larzac, which produces silky wines with intense flavors. At the foot of Mont Baudile, 35 km to the west of Montpellier, this vineyard offers a unique geography. Yields are low because of the strict grape selection and carbonic maceration is used to produce generous wines. Made from 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache and matured in new and older French oak for 10 months. The wine is at once full bodied and fresh, with notes of intense black currant, black cherry and mocha gliding to a silky, rich finish.
Jean-Claude Mas Le Sauvignon Blanc
Le Sauvignon Blanc by Paul Mas is the quintessential South of France experience where warm dry growing seasons lead to perfectly ripe grapes and gorgeously seductive wines. Vigneron Jean Claude Mas has worked assiduously to build a vineyard empire using organic and sustainable practices. A disciple of precision winemaking practices he employs the latest in technology to preserve natural fruit characters and linear freshness. The sauvignon blanc grapes are picked at optimum ripeness and cool-vinified at Domaine Paul Mas, near Pezenas in the Languedoc. Typically, this vibrant and juicy wine is pale coloured with intense grapefruit, lime, herb garden, camomile aromas, lovely fresh grapefruit, tropical fruit, lemon curd flavours, fine lacy textures and superb cutting acidity. The silk screened flower bottle neatly captures and sells the floral aromatics and prettiness of the wine. This is very much a warmer climate style with plenty of expression, freshness and flavour. Enjoy as a sundowner or pair with summer salads, roast chicken or pork, or seafood dishes.
Dopff Au Moulin Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg
Dopff Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg has quite phenomenal citrus notes with a luscious and toasty caramelised honey element. Beautifully balanced acidity and immense length. Sheer indulgence!
Marc Brédif Vouvray
Marc Brédif Vouvray is a stylish Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley in France. Very intense and fruity nose with notes of white flowers and quince. A unique wine in that they have the ability to age for many decades, developing palate weight and honeyed complexity as they age.
Marquis D'alban Sauvignon Bordeaux
An intense nose with grapefruit and boxwood aromas. The palate is lively and generous palate with white peach and lime aromas. Long finish with citrus notes. Makes a nice change to New Zealand sauvignon blanc's.
