This fantastic Sauvignon Blanc from France shows notes of orange blossom, lime peel and traditional Pouilly Fume gun-smoke on the nose, which blends seamlessly with the slatey, stoney minerality of the palate, all underpinned by classic Loire acidity. Crisp, refreshing and downright tasty!

The first whiff of this restrained Sauvignon Blanc indicates a departure from the hugely aromatic styles of Marlborough. It has a delicate floral nose with an inkling of Indian spice while the fruit is more stone-fruit than tropical. The palate is elegant, texturally soft with a mouthfeel of freshness and breadth. The cool climate of the Loire produces wines with distinctive freshness, a lean acidity and a spicy or steely spine.

Domaine de Chevalier uses traditional methods when making their flavoursome white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Fermentation occurs in oak casks and is then aged for 18th in oak, some of which is new. This practice was abandoned by many in Graves, only to be (rightfully) regenerated to allow wines of substance and character to be produced once again. Chevalier's Blanc is a wine that is taut and restrained that opens up over a six to eight year period to reveal a wine of supreme delicacy.

Established in the beautiful town of Barr, the André Lorentz estate covers 30 hectares, characterized by a great diversity of soils and exposures, thus offering a unique complexity to the wines of the House. Average age of the vineyard: 20 + years. Delicacy and complexity are the key words to define this Riesling. An assured minerality, embellished with white flowers and candied citrus fruits, on the nose and on the palate. Citrus and apple fruit flavours finish fresh with zesty acidity.

With 40% of reserve wines, the Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne offers complexity, voluptuous on the nose with notes of freshly baked brioche and the richness of roasted coffee beans. This is a deliciously sophisticated wine that finishes dry with a velvet texture, depth and long-lasting bubbles on the palate.

An intense nose with grapefruit and boxwood aromas. The palate is lively and generous palate with white peach and lime aromas. Long finish with citrus notes. Makes a nice change to New Zealand sauvignon blanc's.
