Rabbit Ranch Pinot Noir is a bright red hued wine flaunting interesting aromas of briar patch and gun smoke from its perfumed bouquet. A sip of the wine presents vibrant and fruit forward flavours, supported by low tannins. These flavours and fragrances fuse together to culminate the wine in a soft and captivating finish. It tastes amazing with rabbit pie and meat dishes.

Fruit for this lovely Pinot was selected meticulously, destemmed in stainless steel tanks, and subjected to wild fermentation. Post aging in French oak barrels for about 10 months, the wine was fined and bottled for release. Grasshopper Rock Pinot Noir 2014 shows a medium purple hue, with light pink highlights along the edges. The blissful nose gives off scents of dried herbs, mushrooms, red fruits and violets while the supple palate is packed with black and red cherries coupled with nuances of tobacco, spice and leather. The medium-weighted palate has a great structure and finesse, which mesh well with the fine and grainy tannins to provide a lengthy mineral finale. A suggested food pairing with this wine is smoked hoki.

The 2017 has an alluring nose, opening with charming bright fruit, sweet spice and inviting florals - all wrapped in lifting minerality. FROMM have always loved Pinot Noir and showed both faith and foresight that it could thrive in Marlborough, planting Pinot vines in 1990. Their first attempt at the variety validated this belief with International success and acclaim and consequently helped put both Fromm and Marlborough on the international Pinot Noir map. From here the region''s Pinot industry bloomed and is now easily New Zealand's largest Pinot Noir producing area. Fromm, though, has remained staunchly boutique choosing to produce no more than 7,000 cases a year. With a quality without compromise attitude Fromm also makes fine examples of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Syrah and Rosa. All the wines are certified organic through BioGro.

The wine is made in as natural a way as possible, harking back to ancient winemaking techniques. Hand picked, some carbonic fermentation, minimal plunging, racked from barrel and bottled without fining or filtration. No added sulphites. Deep red like your mum's lipstick. Bright and crunchy, yet dark and dense just like a bar of black forest chocolate. Red fruits mingle with dried herbs and tobacco. A raw expression of Pinot Noir.
