Marqués de Riscal Próximo is a new addition to the Marqués range and is a bright and fruit driven Rioja style sourced from slightly younger Tempranillo vines. Very strict parcel selection along with traditional picking techniques, this Rioja is bursting with dark blackberry fruit with notes of rich, ripe plums. Hints of liquorice and star anise also give the wine a superb backbone that is perfectly suited many Mediterranean cuisines.

The 2 ha El Pison vineyard was planted in 1945 on a gentle sloping site in the shape of an amphitheatre with deep sub-soils. We had the idea of pairing a chilled, full bodied red wine with the Christmas Day Australian BBQ thus our Sparkling Shiraz was born. Carefully crafted and spending up to 8 months in American oak, it is ruby red colour with a lifted nose of red berry and dark cherry. Made from our Shiraz grape, the palate is soft with plum fruit characters. The finish is smooth and refreshing with a fine persistent bead.Drinking wonderfully now yet will improve over the next 4 to 7 years.Ideal with any roast meats - particularly roast turkey.

Here their 'The Long Road' Syrah is actually sourced from vineyards that are both within the Canberra District and other nearby regions, like Hilltops. The result is a Syrah that is lifted in both aroma and flavours of ripe red cherries and strawberry. 14 months in older French oak has also provided a subtle savoury note with extreme elegance.
