Tempranillo

In 1991, Tahbilk husband and wife team of winemaker Alister Purbrick and artist Rosa Dal Farra decided to combine their talents to produce a range of alternative varietal wines showcased under Rosas boldest art works. Now widely known and made, these varieties validate the foresight Tahbilk had.

Grove Estate Sommita Nebbiolo

The 2016 Nebbiolo is a lovely ripe true to style Hilltops Nebbiolo. These vines are meticulously looked after throughout the growing season. It is interesting to consider when the winemaking begins for such a great wine - Is it when the grapes reach Bryan at the winery or perhaps when "Windows" prunes the vines in Winter, or is it when the vines were planted by Mark, John, and Michael and there families. Or did this wine have its beginning when the soil was taking formation, obviously all the above and much more was involved in the final wine, so please enjoy, respect and linger over all that goes into each bottle as we have.

Grove Estate Hilltops Primitivo

The 2017 Primitivo is from our original plantings of Primitivo planted in 1996. These vines were taken from cuttings at Cape Mentelle. The vines now resemble a bush vine and with lots of hand thinning and trimming we are able to nurture this difficult variety into this lovely wine.

Earthworks Barossa Tempranillo

Family owned and operated, Barossa earthworks make its wines from 100% Barossa grapes, grown at small family owned vineyards. Drawing on more than 160 years of local wine knowledge, traditional winemaking methods and minimal processing are used to preserve the purity, integrity, texture and flavour of the wines. Blood red in colour, Earthworks Tempranillo opens with boysenberry, pepper, a hint of charred meats and black forest cake aromas. The soft tannins spread over your palate giving a juicy, ferrous, velvet mouth feel, a must try in our opinion.

Hungerford Hill Classic Tumbarumba Pinot Noir

Fragrant aromas of red cherry, spice and forest herbs follow to a silky palate, integrating perfectly with acidity and tannins and a very long persistent finish.

Cottontail Wines Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon

On the palate the wine enters smoothly, with rich red fruits, followed by a nice silky mid palate mouth feel. Well-integrated oak contributes to the finish of the wine.Drinking wonderfully now, this wine has been carefully cellared and is being released as a premium Cottontail wine. Suitable for most meat dishes - including BBQ meat & roasts.

Cottontail Wines Sweet Red Bunny

A fruity food friendly styled wine - this wine expresses many of the Shiraz characteristics, yet offers a lusciously rich palate. It showcases varietal aromas of spice and plum, whilst the palate displays concentrated berry characters with well-integrated American oak for eight months leading to a harmonious finish. The warm summer seasons are ideal and award us with excellent fruit, to develop our extremely popular Red Bunny range.Served slightly chilled increases the acid profile and makes this wine refreshingly delicious. Ideal with pizza, desserts, medium soft cheeses, and anything spicy.

Tumblong Hills Shiraz

Deep magenta in colour. Beautifully ripe, red fruit aromas coalesce in a generous and wonderful regional signature. Plum, cherry and raspberry fruit flavours occupy centre stage, while French oak influence provides further depth of flavour and supportive length.

Murrumbateman Winery Tempranillo

The Spanish fieasta is here – crack out the Tempranillo (tem-prah-ni-yo) and serve up the chorizo. My forefathers were from Spain, but I am a local through and through. I grew up in the Canberra region and my grapes were carefully picked by hand, only the best will do so naturally I was aged in French oak. I have a curvaceous medium body, a rich mouth feel and plum fruit flavours with earthy hints of mature spice and black tea tannin.
