Mazza Tempranillo

Mazza is a new producer to Wine Selectors, who specialise in growing Spanish and Portuguese varieties in the Geographe region of Western Australia. In the glass: Medium red purple.On the nose: Bright cherry berry and earth.On the palate: Intense, dense and concentrated red and black fruit flavours and a fine and elegant acid tannin balance. Shows lovely texture and mouth-feel with amazing youthful vibrancy.

Nick O'Leary Shiraz

Whenever we taste a blind Shiraz line up where this wine is featured, it's hard not to be lured into its enticing character of purity and style. Hauntingly akin to a Northern Rhone example, violets, spice, wild herb and earth wrap around a delicious core of red fruits and plum. Bravo Nick O'Leary. 'Canberra's benign 201213 growing season produced, in abundance, grape quality not seen in the much cooler, wetter 2011 and 2012 vintages. Our exciting 2013 reds include Nick O'Leary's shiraz a jaw dropper that kept judges gaping as they piled gongs on it at the 2014 Royal Brisbane Wine Show. They gave it a gold medal, then three trophies: best one-year-old red of the show (Stoddart trophy), best shiraz of the show and best red of the show. This is a significant achievement for Canberra shiraz and not just for O'Leary. It provides yet more recognition, in a hotly contested national event, of our region's distinctive style. O'Leary's highly perfumed, medium-bodied wine shows the vibrant red berry- and-spice character of cool-grown shiraz on a luscious, silky palate, cut with fi ne tannins. A vibrant, medium-bodied Tempranillo sourced from the King Valley and Heathcote regions of Victoria. Smooth, juicy, berry flavours and subtle, earthy spice. Great paired with people.

Borambola Moonlight Cabernet Sauvignon

Displaying an abundance of classic Cabernet Sauvignon flavours and oak characteristics from aging in French barrels. With a nose and palate dominated by blackcurrant fruit flavor, this wine is well balanced. A lovely red plum colour that will deepen with age. Ripe varietal characters of blackcurrant with leafy notes. Is rich with French oak yet still approachable.

Medium bodied wine with raspberry fruits, cherries and chalky tannins on the finish.

Nick Spencer Gundagai Light Dry Red

Pinot Noir 60%, Sangiovese 28%, Shiraz 12% All the individual varieties were fermented separately in small 2 tonne parcels. The fruit was 100% destemmed and pressed after 18 days on skins. The Pinot Noir and Sangiovese were blended together immediately after pressing and the Shiraz shortly after to ensure a longer period of time for the varieties to integrate. Nick Spencer Wines is a small Canberra based wine company dedicated to producing exceptional, hand crafted wines that honour their local landscape. Producing stunning, award winning wines for nearly two decades, Nick's passion and remarkable talent for considered, quality wines is evident in every bottle. Awarded a degree in oenology at the University of Adelaide in 2000, Nick has worked for notable producers across the industry including Rosemount, Coldstream Hills, Madew Wines, Tertini Wines, and most recently, proudly lead the team at Eden Road for almost a decade. Nick has received extensive industry recognition, winning the 2009 Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy, the National Wineshow Trophy for Best Shiraz in 2011; as a Len Evans tutorial scholar in 2011, as a finalist in the Young Gun of Wine Award in 2011 and a finalist in the Gourmet Traveler Winemaker of the Year in 2014. Nick made wine in Khakheti in Georgia for several years, has toured extensively through France, New Zealand and Californian wine regions and is a regular judge at many regional and national wine shows including in Sydney and Queensland. Nick lives in Canberra with his wife Sarah and their two young children.

Tumblong Hills J Block Cabernet Sauvignon

A deep purple coloured wine with pungent aromas of plum, blackberry, violet and spearmint. The exceptional and complex flavours have an elegant expression with outstanding varietal poise.

Tumblong Hills Shiraz

Deep magenta in colour. Beautifully ripe, red fruit aromas coalesce in a generous and wonderful regional signature. Plum, cherry and raspberry fruit flavours occupy centre stage, while French oak influence provides further depth of flavour and supportive length.

Hungerford Hill Classic Hilltops Tempranillo Graciano

Tempranillo and Graciano grown on the red soils of the Hilltops region near Young, NSW; were vinified seperately before blending and matuaration. The savoury and smooth Tempranillo is complimented by the spicey fruit and structure of Graciano, the resultant wine has greater intensity, depth and length.

Aaron Mercer's new self-named venture is going from strength to strength, and is delivering some exceptional wines from across NSW, in this case Hilltops Tempranillo.Bright, deep purple. Youthful black cherry, blood plum, plum, pepper and cedar box. Crisp and refreshing entry, in a medium-bodied frame, with supple red fruit flavours, silken tannin structure, vibrant red berry acidity and good complexity throughout.
