Kanta Riesling Museum Release
The 2013 Kanta Riesling is a youthful green gold in the glass. The nose entices with notes of lemon curd, buttery pastry, honeysuckle and kaffir lime leaf, backed by lovely tertiary notes of brown lime cordial and a hint of kerosene. The palate is yielding and fleshy, but remarkably fresh for 8 years old. At first the palate yields pineapple and baked lemon pudding, well supported by gentle acidity. The time on lees and maturation in bottle means that this is a wine that has truly settled into its own skin. Kanta Riesling by Egon Müller is a unique winemaking partnership where German tradition and precision meets the premium, cool climate fruit from the Adelaide Hills. Kanta partners, Egon Müller and Michael Andrewartha are pleased to announce the ninth release from this unique, cross-cultural winemaking project. Since its inception in 2005 they have proudly watched Kanta come of age.
Pot & Still Adelaide Hills Fig Gin
25 years chemical free, Estate grown Figs poached gently to extract the sweet fig aroma, essence, and earthiness. The gin botanicals and spirit show early on the nose with all the fig showing on the palate. Pour over ice and enjoy or add some lime for a flavor explosion, a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity which stretches the profile, then add a little good tonic to create the perfect G&T.
Ashton Hills Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
Bk Wines Gin Gin Chardonnay, Piccadilly Valley
GinGin. A clone from California, perhaps, but a wine with all of the hallmarks of the Jura. Golden to the eye with an open, slightly oxidative nose (think cashew nuts). Juniper berries and alpine wild flowers with a fresh, rounded texture. Born in the Piccadilly Valley not far from Swaby geographically, made identically in the winery, but ultimately continents apart stylistically. 100% Piccadilly Chardonnay, handpicked, wild-yeast fermentation, whole bunch pressed to barrel, some bâttonage, 10 months in 25% new French oak, unfiltered and unfined, only 50 dozen made.
Manser Block 4 Shiraz
This is the sixth release of this wine and it's richness is again on display. This is rich, ripe, Hills shiraz looking a lot like the 'Vales. Black and blue fruits dominate with a hint of eucalypt and a palate supported by 20% brand new Frenach oak. A very classy wine that demands decanting to enjoy now but will offer improvement over the next 10-20 years.
Whisson Lake Black Label Pinot Noir, Adelaide HIlls
Porta Rossa Barbaresco DOCG
Adelaide Hills Shiraz
This is the 7th release of this flagship wine sourced exclusively from vines that used to feed Eileen Hardy Shiraz. This nose exhibits white pepper and spice, the palate is full bodied with layers of black and blue fruits finishing with firm yet fine tannins that will see this wine cellar well into the 2030s. One for cellar or decant now for an hour before serving.
Méthode Traditionelle Blanc de Blancs
Bright, fresh, end effortlessly elegant, this Méthode Traditionelle Blanc de Blancs is a pure expression of our Chardonnay fruit. Crafted in the traditional method and spending 14 months on lees, it showcases a fine, persistent bead that carries vibrant aromas of candied lemon and zesty sherbet. The palate is silky yet energetic, with a beautifully balanced acidity that lifts the citrus driven profile. A touch of lemon curd lingers on the finish, adding a delicate touch of richness that perfectly compliments the wine's crisp, youthful vibrancy.
