Thanks to a heritage of over 2000 years of winemaking traditions and an integration of climates, reliefs and soils, this region is home to a diversity of extraordinary wines. It is the patchwork of wine growing areas in Pays dOc that creates an expression of these grape varieties that are unique. Juicy, opulent red fruits and a lovely warming spice. Sweet, bright cherries compliment soft, abundant chalky tannins. Great length of flavour.

Made by Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné, one of the flagship producers of France's Rhone Valley - a vast Mediterranean region with an incredible diversity of landscapes and grape varieties. This Syrah is the perfect expression of its region: southern in character yet fresh, dense, and fruit-driven. Bright ruby red in appearance with an expressive nose of ripe red fruit and blueberries, complimented by spicy and floral notes. The palate is smooth and generous, dominated by flavours of black cherries. An excellent representation of the freshness of fruit and complex, peppery spice that can be found in Rhone Syrah.

The Aude Valley, stretching between Carcassonne and the Pyrenees in extreme south of France is similar in climate and Limestone soil to the Loire Valley. The high altitude and cooling evening breezes creates wines with varietal character, acidity and freshness. This wine by Le Chat is very pale pink in colour, sitting well within the classic Provence pale and dry spectrum. The nose is aromatic and sweetly perfumed with aromas of strawberries and rose petals. The palate is a revelation compared to previous vintages, elegant and effortless with light berry and candied fruit drop flavours lingering long on a soft, dry finish.
