This parcel was carefully selected by winemaker Nick Badrice. True to its name, Nick describes this wine as 'the ultimate Barossa Grenache'. It offers berries, spice and wild raspberry notes with velvety tannins on the lingering finish.

A clear cherry aroma characterises this wine. With a pleasantly low alcohol content the wine is framed with a fruity body, discreet tannins and other oriental spices. Being already attractive and open in fragrance, it does not have to be decanted for hours before radiating its stimulating perfume. This wine is vibrant, perfumed Grenache with classic raspberry, musk and earthy notes. Serve lightly chilled. McLaren Vale is Australias foremost region for Grenache, where it was historically largely used for fortified wines and as a workhorse blending variety, frequently with Shiraz and Mourvedre/Mataro. Full-bodied examples rival Australias greatest Shiraz wines and this particular style, which highlights the varietys inherent deep red fruit characters, is fast gaining in popularity. Youthful, mid-weight palate, bright spiced red cherry and ripe raspberry fruits on attack to turn to a slately, dried spice and cherry pit close. Precise and focussed, fine sandy tannins and bright acids deliver drive and finish.

Appearance: bright ruby red. Nose: raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and spice. Palate: bright summer fruits with a white pepper and spice finish, complemented by fine tannins. A full bodied wine with a long finish.

Green apple and citrus zest, jump from the glass. On the palate there is white peach, hints of brioche, almond, and mineral notes.
