Michele Chiarlo Nebbiolo Il Principe
Michele Chiarlo was founded in 1956 by the sole and present owners, Michele and Giuseppina Chiarlo. Son of over seven generations of esteemed wine growers, Mr. Chiarlo is today one of the most respected producers of the fine wines of Piedmont and a leading figure in its viticultural industry. The Principe is produced with the grapes from the Nebbiolo hills in the Langa area and has been left to refine in large vats for a year. Notes of violet, red fruits and elegant fine spices. Harmonious, with good structure, the presence of fine tannins and a good round finish.

Blend 3 is our traditional blend, which combines the 3 Nebbiolo clones we have growing at Pipan Steel Wines. It takes the structure of Clone 7 and layers the perfume of Clone 9 with the savouriness of Clone 10, producing a complex satisfying Nebbiolo. Drink it with dishes as delicate as a broth through to rich slow cooked pork.Blend 3 was voted first consensus pick in the Young Gun of Wine Spotlight on Nebbiolo blind tasting in July 2019.
Nocturne Nebbiolo Rose
The Sangiovese fruit was simply destemmed, chilled and pressed using only the free-run fraction of the juice. It was then fermented at moderate temperatures using as always solely indigenous yeasts. After fermentation it was matured for three months on gross lees to add additional texture. The Nebbiolo fruit was hand-picked and, after chilling, whole bunch-pressed directly to old oak for fermentation. This took close to six weeks, after which the wine received a further four weeks maturation in barrel. At this stage the final blend between Sangiovese and Nebbiolo was decided and the wine was emptied from barrel/tank, settled, filtered, sulphured and bottled in late July.We are super stoked with the final wine!!The texture and acid structure are highlights of what is likely a more approachable and fruit-forward release of Nocturne rosé
Marcarini Lasarin Nebbiolo
If you should visit La Morra, there are two locations you shouldnt miss, both perched on the top of this Langhe hill. One is the stunning view from the top of the town with sweeping views of Barolo DOCG, and the other, on the main square, is the Marcarini winery that dates back to the 1700s. Lasarin is produced from the grapes of the youngest Nebbiolo-Barolo vineyards and, in particular, from the ancient Nebbiolo vineyard in the Roero region (on the left side of the Tanaro river), uniting the grapes noble heritage with enjoyable freshness and easy drinking. The nose recalls flowers, raspberries and blackberries; in the mouth it is dry, balanced, velvety and enjoyably tannic, a legacy of the noble Nebbiolo grape.
Maretti Barolo
A wonderful Barolo from Maretti showcasing great value for the region. The colour is dark garnet with ruby highlights. It has a clear-cut, intense nose with overtones of roses, spices, earthy undertones with nuanced vanilla notes. The taste is dry, but soft, full-bodied, velvety and well balanced, and is very long-lasting. Classic Barolo like this works well with rich braised meat dishes or a mushroom risotto.
