Gitanos Errantes Malbec Del Pueblo

Aromas of cinnamon spiced Mocha and fresh black berries and plums float from the glass with hints of Grandpa's pipe tobacco wafting in. The dark chocolate lined palate shows fresh black berries, black currant, plum and morello cherries with lovely chewy fine chocalately tannin that lingers.

Fat Bastard Malbec

Medium purple hue. Ripe blackberry & black cherry with hints of fresh tobacco. Upfront, it is all juicy and dark fruited - ripe plum, tangy blueberry with a touch of ribena sweetness - but to follow, a hint of smoky cured meatiness and fine chalky tannin serve to make the finish savoury yet muy refrescante. Fermented in open stainless steel vats on skins for 14 days. Gentle pressing off skins via airbag press. The brainchild of Guy Anderson and Thierry Boudinaud, Fat Bastard Wines came into being via an exclamation, "Now that is what you call a Fat Bastard!" The comment came in response to a barrel of experimental Chardonnay that Thierry had left on lees for an extended maturation. Both Guy and Thierry felt that the wines had to be shared with the world, and so Fat Bastard Wines was born. Now, the pair work with wineries and vineyards from all over the world, sourcing fruit and juice from a myriad different regions and countries. But one factor remains the same: they make unapologetically full-bodied wines, packed with flavour and vibrancy.

Flight of the Condor Malbec

The fruit for this impressive malbec is picked from young vines grown at altitude in Mendoza. The altitude contributes to the vitality of this generously flavoured red. There is good integration of oak whilst the wine remains focused on a fresh fruit profile on the palate, and is complemented stylishly by violet aromatics.

Zuccardi Serie A Malbec

Zuccardi Seria A Malbec is an excellent example of this variety which thrives in Argentina. Dark berries with a hint of pepper on the nose, and a spicy, well structured palate with a touch of oak.

The Waxed Bat

Sun, clear air, cool elevated vineyards and great winemaking skills give Argentina all the ingredients for world class wines. Joanna Simon says: "As a wine country, Argentina has everything going for it" (The Sunday Times). The Waxed Bat is a triumphant creation from our good friend Opi Sadler, winner of two international Trophies to date, and winemaker at Andean Vineyards. The wine's name was inspired by memories of his grandfather's cellar - wine bottles sealed with heavy red wax and an occasional bat fluttering in the lamp light. Spicy, liquorice scented Shiraz, cassis laden Cabernet and dense Malbec create power and complexity. Smooth enough to drink on its own and terrific with spare ribs, steak or kebabs. Decant an hour in advance.

Marraso Marraso Daily Malbec

The fruit for this distinctive Argentinian malbec was sourced from Agrelo and Lulunta. Agrelo is situated 35 km south of the city of Mendoza. It's terroir is considered to be some of the best for the production of richly flavoured malbec. Lulunta is a sub-region of the famous Mendoza area. It too has a reputation for producing malbecs of quality. The wine remains unoaked to allow the freshness and vibrancy of the deeply flavoured dark fruit to shine.

Santa Julia El Burro Malbec

Santa Julia El Burro, named for a family donkey, is born in Finca Maipú - a 175 hectare vineyard that has been certified organic since 2001. Together with the 130 certified hectares of organic vines in Finca Santa Rosa, this makes Santa Julia the largest organic producer in Argentina. Natural yeasts are used for El Burro and no sulphites are added. The wine displays a beautiful violet colour, with aromas of cherry and plum. The body is fullish and the flavours plummy, fresh and rich. The wine represents a beautiful and natural expression of the Malbec grape.

Full-bodied with high acidity and soft tannins. It is easy to drink, and hard to forget. 100% MalbecDesigned to drink young, it has a deep dark red colour with straight forward aromas of red fruits and marmalades, in perfect harmony with an oak finish. Very full-bodied with high acidity with and soft tannins make it easy to drink and hard to forget. Best served at 18° CEnjoy with a BBQ, red meats or pasta.Nocturnal harvest. Controlled fermentation. 10 months of French and American oak. Domiciano produces wines with 100% Malbec grapes, harvested during the fresh nights in our farms in Barrancas to avoid oxidation and thus preserve the maximum aromatic expression. Once the grapes are taken into the cellar, they are allowed to macerate at cold, controlled temperatures for 5 days in stainless-steel tanks. Then they ferment with selected yeasts, maintaining the temperature between 25 to 28ºC for approximately 15 days. Later, the wine rested in a combination of French and American oak for 10 months. About the winery: The vineyards of Domiciano de Barrancas are located in the heart of Barrancas, south of the Mendoza River. The climate is dry and sunny, with great thermal amplitude between day and night; this allows a slow and progressive maturation, harmonising the sugar-acidity ratio. The tall trellises are irrigated with the purest water, the melting snow of the Andes.
