Located in the far north of Scotland, Glenmorangie distillery uses the tallest stills in Scotland, where only the lightest and purist spirit vapours reach the top, giving Glenmorangie its hallmark floral and fruity character.

Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Extremely Rare Malt

To create its well rounded flavour, Glenmorangie 18-Year-Old Extremely Rare Malt spends fifteen years maturing in American white oak casks, then approximately 30% is transferred into Spanish Oloroso casks for a further three years. Then both elements are blended back together to create a whisky with a rich bouquet and full, rounded flavour.

Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Glenmorangie Master Distiller, Bill Lumsden, delivers one of the most consistently high-quality portfolios in Scotland. But it’s his ‘entry level’ product, the Glenmorangie 10 Year Old that sets the bar for the rest to follow. Jim Murray is rapturous about this expression declaring it to be “...one of the great single malts” rating it 94 points. Elegant swan-necked stills ( said to be the tallest in Scotland) are claimed to contribute to the lightness of the spirit. Maturation takes place in ex-Bourbon casks, made from oak sourced from Glenmorangie's own section of forest in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri. Our tasting found delicate aromas of creme brulee, pineapple, pear drops, barley sugar, vanilla, cocoa and spice. The palate is medium dry, supremely soft and full of flavour. Vanilla custard, toffee, toasted coconut and cocoa are aided by a softly spiced, malty background. Hints of dried fruit emerge. The balance is very good and there's a lingering aftertaste of vanilla, cocoa and toasted coconut. Put simply, there’s an alluring delicacy and complexity to this whisky that seems to punch above its price point. 40% Alc./Vol.

Glenmorangie Amontillado Sherry 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Product Information: Dr Bill Lumsden, head distiller at Glenmorangie and long-time fan of Amontillado sherry has always adored its nuttier, more savoury flavours. Years ago, he began to imagine a unique, delicious whisky, which would entwine its casks’ distinctive flavours through the Distillery’s gentle, honeyed style. But since such casks are hard to come by, opportunities are few and far between. Eventually, Dr Bill sourced a precious handful of Amontillado casks. Then he filled them with a soft, mellow whisky which had spent eight years in American white oak bourbon barrels. Transferring it into the Amontillado casks, he left it to age for another four years, until it achieved the flavours he had dreamed of. Finished in this way, the whisky winds sherried hints of cashews, clove, ginger and dried fruit round Glenmorangie’s classic notes of peaches, orange and lemon balsam. Dr Bill hand-selected the finest of those precious casks to be bottled for the Distillery’s Barrel Select Release. He said: “I have always loved the nuttier, spicier tastes of Amontillado – my favourite style of sherry. It’s such a delight to bring its casks’ sherried influences to our whisky’s signature delicate style for this special release." Exclusive to UK and Australia. Maker: Glenmorangie single malt whisky has been produced in the Scottish Highlands since 1843, when farmer William Matheson and his wife Anne followed their dreams and founded the Glenmorangie Distillery. He set himself apart and put history in motion by creating an exceptional single malt at a time when others were focused on blends. The smooth yet complex whisky he created was inspired by the distillery’s peaceful surroundings on the banks of the Dornoch Firth. His legacy continues 175 years later. The Glenmorangie logo draws inspiration from the ancient Cadboll Stone, a testament to Scotland's Picts, who once inhabited the region. The stone's intricate carvings, which is now housed in the National Museum of Scotland, influenced the Glenmorangie insignia. These patterns pay homage to the Picts, who cultivated barley fields in the area, now used by Glenmorangie for their single malt whiskies. Glenmorangie has been distilled by a group of local men entrusted with the secrets of the craft. After the distillery’s location in beautiful Tain, Ross-shire - they are known as The Men of Tain. Some have worked there for decades, eventually passing on Glenmorangie’s secrets to their sons who carry on the tradition. Considered a pioneer in its field, the Scottish Distillery has become famous for combining tradition and innovation to create the most delicious whiskies. To achieve this, Glenmorangie single malt whisky is created by the people of Tain with a unique distillation process that uses the tallest stills in Scotland. Expertly matured in only the finest oak casks, the resulting single malt is testament to the savoir-faire that has been passed down from generation to generation by a team of expert craftsmen and women. Philosophy: In 1887, Glenmorangie renovated their distillery, installing several technical innovations, including the tallest stills in Scotland in order to achieve a purer, smoother whisky. To this day, their stills remain the tallest in all of Scotland. The tall stills The height of the stills allows only the very purest vapours make it to the top, creating a smoother, more elegant whisky. With perfection always in mind, the House uses mineral-rich Tarlogie Spring water and carefully chosen Scottish barley in its production. Glenmorangie is distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, with copper necks that are 5.14 metres high, so that only the lightest and purest vapours are captured for maturation, producing a smooth, elegant, delicious single malt whisky. Glenmorangie are serious about their choice of wood. They are industry leaders in researching the ways in which wood impacts whisky maturation, blazing a trail on truly exceptional cask-finished whisky. While other distilleries might use the same casks as many as six times, Glenmorangie’s practice has evolved to use casks only twice in order to retain the fullest flavour for a whisky of exceptional depth and complexity. Nose - Baked Orange, Peaches in Syrup, Cashew Freshly baked orange and poppy seed cake, with peaches in syrup, cashew nuts and classic dried fruit sherry notes.
