Mount Mary Quintet Cabernets
Supremely graceful and fine in typical Mount Mary style. The long and silky palate has a tapestry of red and black fruit flavours, the finish long and satisfying, the aftertaste lingering for minutes. Available in selected stores only.
Mount Mary Quintet
Australia's premier cool climate Cabernet. It was John Middleton's dream to create such a wine and purchased the Mount Mary property in the Yarra Valley in 1971 to persue this dream. Quintet is his dream realised and is a blend of the classic Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
Mount Mary Triolet
The Triolet blend, first produced at this vineyard in 1987, was inspired by the white wines of Graves, Bordeaux. Each variety is picked at optimum ripeness, and is usually fermented separately. The characteristics of optimum ripeness are different for each variety. We pick the Sauvignon blanc after the strong herbaceous flavours have disappeared, the Semillon when the acid is not too harsh, and the Muscadelle when the flavour intensity peaks.
Mount Mary Reflexion Syrah
This is the first time Mount Mary has released a Syrah under its own label, and it’s a terrific debut. Made entirely from estate fruit, the wine is an elegant, medium-bodied take on the variety, leaning more towards perfume and spice than raw power. There’s a bit of whole bunch in the ferment (30%), which gives the wine some beautiful lifted aromatics. Think dark cherry, black pepper, and dried herbs. The palate is tidy and savoury, with enough texture and gentle grip to keep things interesting without ever feeling heavy. It feels like a natural extension of Mount Mary’s house style, just through the lens of Syrah. A great first step for what could become an important part of the Mount Mary range in the future.
PINOT NOIR, YARRA VALLEY
Mount Mary is one of the iconic wineries of Australia and one of the jewels of the Yarra Valley. Their Pinot Noir is Yarra pinot at its finest, possessed of rare finesse and purity. The wine is typically medium bodied, with fragrant cherry and strawberry aromas and a vibrant, succulent palate of prodigious length.
Mount Mary Chardonnay
At Mount Mary they aim to make a Chardonnay of great length that is able to reach a balance between complexity & finesse. Unashamedly Burgundian in concept, local Yarra Valley practices are employed to fully express the unique terroir, including the wine not going through Malolactic fermentation as Mount Mary's cool-climate leaves the fruit with ideal acidity when picked. Matured in 20% new French barriques with the remainder in older barrels and large casks and along with grape solids, this is a Chardonnay of impressive texture and complexity.
Mount Mary Pinot Noir
Mount Mary Pinot Noir is extremely rare and hard to find. Don't miss any opportunity to buy this rare Pinot Noir from one of the Australia's premier cool climate producers. The Pinot Noir is supple and fresh with strong tannins which need more time to develop but will blossom into a magnicent example of the style.
MOUNT MARYCABERNET BLEND
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose is superb and features perfumed like aromatics of violets, ripe red to black currants and subtle mulberries that work in perfect harmony with complexing elements of cedar, dusty earth, light dried herb notes, hints of black olives and spice. Graced with finesse, elegance and class, this is an exquisite Quintet. Decorating the medium bodied palate is a delightful core of ripe red currant and mulberry fruit that’s underpinned by spicy cedar, a light dusting of earth, infusions of fresh herbs, traces of tobacco and black olive. Exceptionally fine tannins along with fresh, finely tuned acidity provide fantastic structure for long term cellaring. Concludes very long and refined with a red fruited aftertaste that’s tinged with elements of dusty cedar, light tobacco, dried herbs and spice.
Mount Mary Triolet Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Muscadelle
A classic and refined style with some citrus characters framed by bakery and subtle vanilla spice, the iconic Triolet is a classic Bordeaux Blanc blend, incorporating the three varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. It was first produced by Mount Mary in 1987. The varieties are fermented separately in barrel with complexity and palate weight gained from extended lees contact and fermentation on solids.
