Hoddles Creek Wickhams Road Pinot Noir
Gippsland Pinot Noir from Franco dAnna. His sold out 1er Pinot entered Langton's Classification VII last year and his second tier wines sold out in record time. Wickhams Road is his value label that produces what Gary Walsh describes as 'a gift to Pinot Noir drinkers.' This is simply good drinking Pinot. As this is from Gippsland, you can expect a more fruit-forward Pinot. But there is also complexity, a savoury finish and really good acid making it such a drinkable drop. Before we go too far, lets not for a minute compare this wine with the greats of Gippsland. Its simply not one of those wines. Its for drinking and enjoying now.
Jim Barry Wines Rose
JIM BARRY WINES Rose, Clare Valley 2021 Jim Barrys Clare Valley Rosé makes every last drop count. With their exclusive new wine, they and The McGrath Foundation hope to raise much-needed funds to provide care and support to people in Australia experiencing breast cancer. This wine exhibits beautiful floral notes and bright red fruits. Red currant, fresh strawberry and lively pink grapefruit continue through to the palate and the finish is clean and refreshingly long.
Save Our Souls Sagrantino
This wine is fun… spicy nose of anise and dark berries. The palate has dark plums and cherries with a juicy centre. A back palate of crushed cherries linger.
Hither & Yon Touriga
In the glass: Youthful red purple. On the nose: Vibrant and grapey dark berry fruit lift. On the palate: Fresh and fleshy, yet dry and savoury at the same time, showing ripe curranty fruit characters, leather and cola notes and some meaty complexity. This all makes for an interesting food-friendly style of Touriga.
