Coppabella Single Vineyard Tumbarumba Chardonnay

Modern Australian Chardonnay is revolutionising the varietal, and this single vineyard Tumbarumba is a prime example. Experience lifted grapefruit, honeydew melon and lemon zest aromas on the nose. The wine is bright with flavours of green apple, lime and creamy cashew notes on the middle palate. The finish is long and refined with a lovely driving line of acidity.

Zonte's Footstep Z-Force McLaren Vale Shiraz

Z-Force is named in tribute to the Z Special Force, which was a special Australian Army unit created in World War Two to operate behind enemy lines. Z-Force’s members were from many countries and specialised in unique guerrilla warfare. Although disbanded after the war, Z-Force pioneered numerous operational techniques and tactics, many as daring as they were brilliant, that remain a model to this day. The surviving members of Z Special Unit last marched together on Anzac Day in Sydney 2010. The extraordinary bravery of their unit and its lost brothers are honoured in this wine, which is Zonte’s Footstep finest. Each bottle of this wine sold helps support the work of Legacy South Australia.

Terrasses des Safres Ventoux

Between Rhône and Provence, Ventoux takes its name from the imposing mountain which forms the backdrop to its ancient vineyards. Its footslopes provide ideal terroir for growing exceptional quality grapes, a fact first recognised by the Perrin family over 40 years ago when they discovered this sandy (safres) plot. As the Ventoux name implies, it's a windy region and, coupled with the height of vineyards, the area’s red wines have “a kind of mountain coolness and freshness” (Andrew Jefford). This is a terrific wine from the 5th-generation Perrin family, the leading organic producer of the southern Rhône. Using a classic blend of grapes, it's a vibrant red with scents of herbal fruit and tobacco. Ideal with lamb kebabs or roast squash pilaf.

Champagne Château de Bligny Grande Réserve

Picture an historic French château surrounded by a belt of green vineyards. This scenic image is the Château de Bligny estate. Nestled in the heart of the Côte des Bar, Marquis de Dampierre built the property in 1773 on the foundations of a feudal castle. Nowadays it is owned by the Rapeneau family who have revamped the vineyards and renovated the château to its former glory. All winemaking stages are done at the estate – from growing, to fermenting, to ageing. This makes it the only house in Champagne to benefit from the title of château. Crafted from equal portions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, bottle-fermented and lees-aged for toasty richness, it’s a perfect celebration fizz or a luxurious treat. Chill down well and enjoy!

Hentley Farm Villian & Vixen Barossa Valley Rose

Hentley Farm was established in 1997 by Keith and Alison Hentschke, who had a single vision to craft exceptional single estate wines from the Barossa Valley. Using an old soil map from the 1950’s to strategically locate the best parcels of land, they discovered a mixed farming property set among the rolling hills on the banks of Greenock Creek in Barossa’s west, with remarkable diversity of soil types, and varying aspects and altitudes. In 2004, the estate was extended with the purchase of a neighbouring vineyard which shared the treasured natural amphitheatre of rolling hills that surround Hentley Farm and resultant diversity of site. This single estate of 150 acres is Hentley Farm. A selection of Grenache from a single block was barrel fermented with minimal skin contact to create a rosé for serious wine appreciators. One that is dry, textural, and beautifully savoury - expressive of the Grenache fruit from which it is produced.

Château Haut Pougnan

A family estate since 1852, Château Haut Pougnan lies in the gently rolling hills of the Entre-Deux-Mers, just across the river Garonne from the famous names of the Right Bank. On their 34-hectare property, in Saint Genès de Lombaud, Merlot is the star grape, with Cabernet Sauvignon in a supporting role and a little Cabernet Franc, all ripening well on the southeast-facing slopes. 2020 was an exceptional vintage in Bordeaux with " a balance of richness and energy” wrote critic Antoni Galloni. Enjoy that power in this silky, well-ripened Cabernet blend. Delicious now (open early and decant) or cellar. A treat with roast meats.
