The 2016 release builds on that breakthrough style - the wine shows plush generosity but there is a layering of flavours and complexity to this vintage that invites not just a second but third look. Generous, accessible primary fruit sits pretty up front but let the wine breathe and suddenly these dry, fine and lightly chewy tannins build on the back palate, lending a savoury edge to the dark fruit finish of this baby.

Tim Knappstein is a legend of the wine industry and his wines always impress. This one comes from two vineyards in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at Carey Gully and Piccadilly. It's bright, intense and mouthwateringly delicious. Look forward to piercing flavours of snowpea and passionfruit combined with a mineral edge and delicious citrus. Superb.

The first time we saw this funky little label it was showcasing a plush, aromatic Malbec. It’s back, and there’ll be plenty who will welcome it fondly! The name? Somewhat academic but a Mach number is defined as the ratio of two speeds. An aircraft travelling at Mach 2 is going twice the speed of sound, which itself is affected by composition and temperature. Dig a little deeper and you'll come across terms such as 'compressible flow' ... and if you're someone who is more interested in the social side of wine enjoyment rather than the science behind it, you'll probably be wanting to stop reading and pour yourself a glass of this juicy and very delicious Malbec showing swathes of fruit to coat your tastebuds.

Saviero is a name which runs through many generations of the Trimboli family, most recently from Salvatore (Sam’s) to his own son. Salvatore’s father Saverio taught Salvatore to make wine, and this brand is a salute to a long-standing family tradition. The wines under this brand all honour Europe’s great family of grape varieties including Spain’s Albariño grape. Albariño, it can be argued is Spain’s signature white wine grape – particularly from Rías Baixas region of northwest Spain. This is a fresh, seafood-friendly Aussie Albariño from the brilliant Sam Trimboli.

Winemaker Elena Brooks has a unique ability to heighten the aromatic power and flavour of Grenache, and this wine is her pinnacle release of the variety.Bright medium to deep ruby. Seductive florals, strawberry, violets, raspberry jube and rose petal. An amalgam of gentle flavours with sweet cherry and strawberry, over satin-soft tannins with superb length. A beautifully made wine.

Warm days and cool nights yield Shiraz of terrific power, elegance and length. The use of multiple blocks and careful oak ageing, adds complexity for a rich, satisfying premium Kilikanoon Shiraz full of black fruit and peppery notes.
