A Premier Cru by classification; a Grand Cru by breed. Clos Saint Jacques has long been a contentious site. For many it is superior to all Grands Crus in Gevrey but for the regal duo of Chambertin and Clos de Bèze and even then, it is often their equal. Sturt. Forceful. Ferrous. Among the very greatest expressions of this regal commune, Jasper Morris MW refers to the Clos as the crown prince, as it slopes steeply to an ideal southern and easterly exposure. Rousseaus, by far the finest articulation.

Domaine François Lamarche La Grande Rue Monopole Vosne-Romanée The Vosne-Romanée vineyards are planted on deep clay-limestone soils and produce lighter wines, with more subtle aromas, and which develop more quickly. The grapes are handpicked, 80-to-100% de-stemmed (depending on the vintage) prior to a vatting period of about 15 to 18 days, in open oak vats at a controlled low temperature. The wine is then aged in oak casks for between 16 and 20 months riot to being bottled with no fining and no filtering.
The Stoney Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is an assemblage of classic Bourdeaux varieties including 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine is crafted in small batches, employing traditional techniques, including open vat fermentation, regular racking and hand plunging- matured in seasoned French oak barriques for 33 months. Deep ruby in colour, with aromatics of plum blossom, blackberry and clove. A fine tannic structure and perfect natural balance. This wine will benefit from medium term cellaring, pairing well with lamb and game meats, richly flavoured sauces, mushroom and truffles.
The parcels which makes up the Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières lie at the very heart of the villages great 1ers Crus hillside. Penfolds Bin 389 is the classic South Australian red! Often referred to as 'Baby Grange' or 'Poor Man's Grange', Bin 389 was the wine that helped to build Penfolds' solid reputation with wine drinkers around the world. A magnificent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from the very best regions and vineyards available to Peter Gago and his team, the robust nature of the Cabernet grape give structure and body to the wine while the opulent Shiraz fruit provides suppleness and intensity. A true icon of Australian wine first created by the legend himself, Max Schubert, Peter Gago is quoted as saying 'Through thick and thin, across all vintages, Bin 389 always delivers - benefitting from over half a century of practice!
Bin 707 is a Cabernet Sauvignon reflection of Grange, intensely-flavoured fruit, completion of fermentation and maturation in new oak, expressing a Penfolds understanding of multi-vineyard, multi-region fruit sourcing. Bin 707 was first vintaged in 1964. The wine was not made from 1970 to 1975 when fruit was directed to other wines, nor in 1981, 1995, 2000, 2003 or 2011 (when fruit of the required style and quality was not available). Full bodied and with proven cellaring potential, Bin 707 retains a secure place among the ranks of Australias finest Cabernets.
