Bin 23 Pinot Noir is a bold, new addition to the Bin collection and promises to be a dynamic member of the Bin family - reflecting its evolving style, regional definition and the complexities of the many & varied clones of Pinot Noir.

Grenache has long been a stalwart of the South Australian wine scene and Penfolds have been blending Grenache with Shiraz since the 1950's. Recent years has seen a growing trend for the luscious perfumed styles like those emanating out of the northern Rhône and the Bin 138 produces a brilliant example. St Henri is a time-honoured and alternative expression of shiraz, and an intriguing counterpoint to Grange. It is unusual amongst high quality Australian red wines as it does not rely on any new oak. Released for the first time by Penfolds in the early 1950s (first commercial vintage 1957), it gained a new lease of life in the 1990s as its quality and distinctive style became better understood. Proudly, a wine style that hasnt succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters with age. It is matured in an assortment of old large vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of cabernet may sneak into the blend, the focal point for St Henri remains shiraz.

A fine graphite core. The warmth and creaminess of Mexican sauce with the weight of wild game: venison loin, braised hare. Eventually sweet custard flavours emerge, smooth and textural. Portuguese tart! A suggestion of fine salinity aligns with mouth-watering acidity, cleansing. As always with St Henri, restrained, no need to be showy. The dark cocoa tannins are so fine they could be spun from silk. Will age and evolve beautifully for decades.

Bin 704 brings together Napa Valley’s varietal nuances with Penfolds House Style. The name Bin 704 draws inspiration from the “mirror” or “reverse” image of its Australian Bin 407 stablemate, a wine which also respects varietal expression. A showcase of succulent acidity and black fruits, ready to enjoy now or to be cellared for future indulgence.

This limited-release gift celebrates connection, creativity and the memories that linger long after the glass is empty. The 2023 vintage encased within each box combines the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of South Australian Shiraz, delivering dark fruit complexity, fine tannins and a long, savoury finish. Made for memories and destined to be shared. The nose is greeted by a hallmark bouquet featuring dark fruit aromas of blackberries and plums, complemented by shaved dark chocolate and Black Forest cake. Aromatic dried herbs and a hint of boot polish add depth, with fine, toasty oak discreetly folded into the fruit.
