Penfolds began releasing the Bin 51 Riesling in the 1990s as part of the evolving white wine development program. The Eden Valley was chosen as the region for this Riesling due to the high altitude and cool climate that results in wines of intense aromatics and superb textural mouth feel. Penfolds Father Grand Tawny pays tribute to 169 years of winemaking excellence. A blend of many outstanding tawny components separately matured in seasoned old oak casks, with a minimum blended average age of ten years. The results yields a wine of generous concentration, vitality, exceptional balance of fruit and oak age complexity. The tawny lingers in the mouth, finishing clean and tight.

Despite its full flavour, it remains gracefully medium-bodied, defined by a stunningly soft, seamless texture and a lacy mesh of assorted tannins that carry the flavours through a long, mouth-watering finish.
