The initials RWT stand for Red Winemaking Trial, the name given to the project internally by Penfolds when developmental work began in 1995. No longer a trial, RWT Shiraz was launched in 2000. Its style is opulent and fleshy, made from fruit primarily selected for its aromatic qualities and plush texture. The result is a wine that helps to redefine Barossa shiraz at the highest quality level.Peak drinking: 2022 - 2050

Penfolds Bin 23 Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir is named after the maturation Cellar 23 at Magill Estate. Bin 23 Pinot Noir is a bold, new addition to the Bin collection and promises to be a dynamic member of the Bin family - reflecting its evolving style, regional definition and the complexities of the many & varied clones of Pinot Noir.

This is a beautifully aged red by Penfolds, made from 60% Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz. Tannins are firm and provide the backbone to a fully mature wine exuding cloves, dried berries and prunes. There is no heaviness here and the palate is supple with a lingering finish.

Penfolds Max’s Pinot Noir is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948 - 1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Max’s constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps and allowed the status and heritage of Penfolds to grow.

Grenadine fruits – raspberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant and strawberry. With pomegranate, citrus, pink grapefruit, mandarin marmalade. And the florals: Anis de Flavigny: Violet Pastiles; lily. Palate Inviting, exotic. Balanced, with an overt freshness - crispness up-front, and a delicate dosage imprint on finish. Relaxed acidity, friendly effervescence.

A cabernet reflection of Grange. Full-bodied with proven cellaring potential, the 2019 shows a mid-palate richness with saturated dark fruit flavours of blackberry and mulberry fused with notes of dark chocolate and liquorice.

Penfolds Yattarna Chardonnay displays an initial bouquet of slate and wet stone, with nuances of lightly roasted almonds. Subtle hints of citrus, shrouded by nectarine and nashi pear fruits. On the palate, a spiced multi-citrus compote with a very delicate acidity. Balanced and will develop exceptionally well with cellaring.
