d'Arenberg's Innocent Weed McLaren Vale GSM is a very tasty – and very moreish 92pt, Great Value drop. As Marcus Ellis writes in The Halliday Wine Companion, it is: "buoyantly fruitful… with notes of boysenberry, blackberry gel, anise pastille, blueberry, graphite, violet, iris, mint and wild raspberry, but it’s more contained, ripeness à point. The strut of tannin is a proprietary character, and they have considerable pull, but they will soften, and the fruit is up to the challenge. Give it a little time, but it's a fine drink" (Halliday). It's named for the rather invasive weed that grows in the same soil as the estate's Grenache – that given its throrns and numerous seeds is actually far from innocent. In 1912, horse-fanatic Joseph Osborn sold his beloved stables and horses and bought the family the d'Arenberg estate in premium McLaren Vale. “d’Arenberg kept its 100+yo heritage while moving into the 21st century with flair. At last count, the d’Arenberg vineyards have 40 varieties planted, as well as more than 50 growers in McLaren Vale. Its considerable portfolio of richly robed red wines, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and grenache are the cornerstones. The iconic 5-level Cube cellar door offers a range of wine experiences including a restaurant and a wine sensory room” (James Halliday). You'll always spot a d'Arenberg wine with its bold red stripe on the label.

PF= Preservative Free, but might also stand for 'purple florals'. "You’ll find the Yangarra generosity here in a spiced laden Grenache full of blackberries, blueberries and prune plums. There is a boysenberry jam kick with clove, bay leaf and bitter cocoa. The wine is slippery on the palate with powdery tannins and a juicy frame. Slosh around in a decanter to make the most of those purple florals. Serve with beef and black bean stir fry. 92pts” (Shanteh Wale, WinePilot). “Arguably the best site in Blewitt Springs, and, indeed, exceedingly beautiful, Yangarra Estate is undeniably one of the most consistent and remarkable producers in McLaren Vale.” (Halliday) It was established in 2000, and with vineyards biodynamically certified, it specialises in Southern Rhône varieties. “With deep sadness, the Australian wine industry farewelled one of its greats when winemaker Peter Fraser tragically passed at the end of ’25. Enjoy a "…delicious Barossa GSM… It is plush, silky, opulent and generous – what is not to like about that!" says Ken Gargett, WinePilot. "The flavours weave through chocolate, coffee beans, dry herbs, cassis and blackberries. The supple texture and seamless structure provide a solid base for a really likeable red blend and we see more chocolate emerging on the palate. A wine with impressive length, this will drink beautifully for at least the next ten to twelve years. 94pts." Ray Jordan, also writing in WinePilot agrees: "“A plush and generous blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Seductive floral perfumes of rose petal and stewed plum. The palate is a polished combination of supple fruit, fine chalky tannins and a gentle touch of oak. Displays an earthy red fruit flavour combo with a little dried herb and sage-like character on a palate that is medium weight and harmonious. 93pts.” (Ray Jordan) It boasts several high scores up to 95pts.

This irresistible black beauty is made from fabulously intense Shiraz and Grenache grapes grown on the craggy hillsides of France's Roussillon region. Look up from the vines and you will see ruins of castles perching precariously on rocky peaks. This inhospitable landscape and these ancient strongholds were home to medieval Cathars who lived in awe of evil god Rex Mundi ('King of the World'). He corrupted the faithful with promises of earthly pleasures and the forbidden delights of mortal flesh. Don't even try to resist, just sip and enjoy this lusciously ripe, juicy marriage of liquorice scented Shiraz and lush, silken Grenache. Gloriously easy to quaff on its own, it also goes well with barbecued meats, Cajun chicken or lamb chops.

Winemaker Elena Brooks has a unique ability to heighten the aromatic power and flavour of Grenache, and this wine is her pinnacle release of the variety.Bright medium to deep ruby. Seductive florals, strawberry, violets, raspberry jube and rose petal. An amalgam of gentle flavours with sweet cherry and strawberry, over satin-soft tannins with superb length. A beautifully made wine.

A calling in life, her great reason to live, she takes what she wants but chooses to give. Adrian Hoffmann is the source of the Mourvèdre and Grenache. Old vines, big flavour, just what you would expect from his Ebenezer vineyards. The other part - the Shiraz - has come from Redheads' long-time partner in crime John Kalleske over in Koonunga. Bright, lifted red fruit aromas of sweet cherry and plum combined with floral and turkish delight characters. Subtle savoury notes, dark morello cherry and red plum characters. A mid-weight GSM with softly woven tannins.

Hervé Sabardeil, our winemaker with limitless talent, has been making Cabalié, the big, ripe Catalan red, for over 15 years. He added the old-vine (Vieilles Vignes) edition in 2011, originally as a one off, but it was so popular we insisted he did it again. And again! The magic to this punchy red is really in the vines. At 60 to 100-years-old, yields are minute (about half of a Grand Cru claret). As a rule of thumb, the smaller the yield, the more concentrated the fruit, the more flavoursome the wine! That’s why we call it Cabalié’s Big Brother. Still made in the same style that was beloved by the Roman centurions and now our customers too, it packs even more flavour than the original. Ideal with garlic-roasted lamb, rich stews or cheese.

First made back in 1997 and still definitely one of the sentimental favourites in the Kilikanoon portfolio, the Prodigal continues to set the standard for Clare Valley old-vine Grenache. Each fruit parcel was harvested and kept separate throughout the winemaking process until final assemblage. A fresh and lively palate, yet dark and brooding at the same time, the combination of ripe cherries, dark chocolate, kitchen spices and kirsch perfectly in sync with the fine chalky tannins and oak influences rounding out to a long flavoursome finish.
