A full-bodied red with rich blackberry and strawberry flavors balanced perfectly by oaky spice, Altos de la Guardia Tempranillo is a special release from Rioja—Spain’s premier wine region—and top boutique Altos de Rioja. Founded by Château Haut Brion-trained winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua, and led today by head winemaker Amaia Amestoy, Altos is known for its quality-driven approach and has won literally hundreds of awards to prove it. Its vineyards are among the highest in the Rioja Alavesa appellation, between 1,900 and 2,300 feet above sea level. This is the winery's juicy-smooth flagship bottling. It's made of 100% Tempranillo from 60- to 80-year-old vines grown high in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria mountains, where grapes enjoy ideal sun exposure and cool temperatures. From vineyard to cellar, the team’s high standards consistently pay off. Delicious on its own, you'll find it's also very versatile come dinner time. We love this Rioja with lamb, but its silky texture and easy-drinking appeal make it a great match for pork, beef, meaty fish and more.

It definitely pays not to believe every cliché that you hear, although there is more than a bit of truth to some. This is especially the case with the truism that is 'Spanish lover'. Quite obvious is the love and devotion paid to the vineyards in Ribera del Deuro by José Moro, resulting in this truly exotic and flavoursome red wine. A 100% Tempranillo that was created with expertise and dedication, the result of which is an intense and full-bodied wine that contains flavours of chocolate and raspberry along with a hint of vanillin oak.

Devil's Vine is one hell of a wine. This devilish drop is approachable, juicy yet smooth, and intensely satisfying. This wine provides aromas of red berries and plum, with flavours of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry and a hint of spice. Go on….It would be a sin not to.

Marqués de Riscal Próximo is a new addition to the Marqués range and is a bright and fruit driven Rioja style sourced from slightly younger Tempranillo vines. Very strict parcel selection along with traditional picking techniques, this Rioja is bursting with dark blackberry fruit with notes of rich, ripe plums. Hints of liquorice and star anise also give the wine a superb backbone that is perfectly suited many Mediterranean cuisines.

What a coup to get this wine into our range. Certainly and deservedly one of the most highly regarded Rioja producers. These are the Riojas from which dreams are made. Think leather chesterfields, smoked meats and cigar-box.
