With not only Robert 'Bob' Oatley's signature on the label, the wine itself has the signature of winemaker Larry Cherubino all over it. Supple and elegant along power and poise are all trademarks of the award winning WA winemaker; all of which are on display here with the Signature Series Chardonnay from Margaret River. Stone fruit notes greet the nose which are then reflected onto the palate that has a length of flavour befitting of a premium Chardonnay.

Grape variety - Semillon 82%, Chenin Blanc 17%, Chardonnay 1%. Colour - Pale green - straw. Aroma - Fresh and fruit driven, displaying elegant characters of apple, pear, flint and fennel. There is a floral perfume along with subtle yeast lees complexity. Palate - Light and textured with a fine creamy texture. Pear, fennel, lime and honeydew melon dominate the clean and lively palate. A wine with great drinkability. Food matches - Fresh seafood and light poultry. Viticulture - Fruit is sourced from neighboring properties in the most northern sub-region of Margaret River. Direct input from Forester`s viticulturist ensures well balanced canopies and crops are grown for the desired fresh fruit driven style. The 2022 vintage was a mild year for white grapes in Margaret River, allowing plenty of time during January and February to ripen the fruit to our specification. Grapes were harvested at a lower baume to achieve the delicate style. Winemaking - Modern white wine making techniques are employed in the production of the Brut Cuvee, with temperature control considered critical from the moment the fruit reaches the winery. The fruit is destemmed and crushed, then must chilled and pressed off skins in a very short space of time. A long cool fermentation follows, allowing for the retention of the delicate fruit characters in the base wine.

These conditions have yielded a wine of remarkable intensity and precision. The Vineyard We selected fruits from theBernard 76 and Bernard 95 clones, originally propagated from Burgundy's finest vineyards. These premium French selections are prized for their small berries and intense flavor concentration - the Bernard 95 contributing bright citrus and mineral notes, while the 76 clone adds texture and stone fruit complexity. When grown in our high-altitude vineyards, they produce wines with exceptional balance and aging potential. Tasting Notes Elegant and finely structured, this cool-climate Chardonnay delivers a crisp yet rounded mouthfeel. Flavors of nectarine, lemon curd, and juicy grapefruit are complemented by a subtle creaminess from well-integrated malolactic fermentation. The French oak is restrained, contributing a silky texture and nuances of spice and cashew. Bright and balanced, the Avant Lower Calorie Chardonnay displays flavors of grapefruit, pineapple and creamy lemon meringue, highlighted by delicate notes of white flower. As a young winemaker travelling the globe, the 'Old World' Chardonnay that Ben Riggs fell in love with in the 1980's were described as 'like drinking cold chalk soup', and have inspired him to make this beloved Adelaide Hills Chadonnay. Over the years Ben has been searching for the perfect cold site to make a dry Chardonnay renowned for the purity of its aroma and taste.
