Claymore London Calling Cabernet Malbec

Inviting and complex aromatics welcome you into this wine; brambly, leafy notes backed up by deep dark fruit with subtle spice and char interplay on the nose. There is a deceptive density to this wine's aroma that hints at what lies beyond. The 2016 release builds on that breakthrough style - the wine shows plush generosity but there is a layering of flavours and complexity to this vintage that invites not just a second but third look. Generous, accessible primary fruit sits pretty up front but let the wine breathe and suddenly these dry, fine and lightly chewy tannins build on the back palate, lending a savoury edge to the dark fruit finish of this baby.

Vinifera Organic Reserve Chardonnay

Savour a 95pt organic Chardonnay from Mudgee’s Vinifera creamy with white peach and toasted almond flavours. "I always look forward to tasting this wine each vintage; it’s a beacon in the region and provides a ray of sunshine on any day. Grapefruit skin, cider apples and peach cheeks. Quenelles of butter and dripping honeycomb. A hint of acacia and frangipani blooms. A chalky mid-palate with raw almond and nougatine. Acidity is just right, gracefully flowing and maintaining pace with the fruit and creamy oak nuances within the wine. This shows off the moderate climate of Mudgee with poise and grandeur.95pt Great Value ” (Shanteh Wale, The Halliday Wine Companion). Vinifera is the Mudgee based winery of Tony McKendry and family.

Domaine David Duband Hautes Côtes de Nuits Louis Auguste

It was David Duband's father, Pierre, who started the estate in 1965. He bought 15 hectares of land in the then unfashionable Côtes de Nuits, just west of Nuits-St-George, and grew grapes. These he sold to the cooperative in Beaune. In 1991, David joined and the first wine was made at the domaine. He took over four years later. There have been many changes since, with the acquisition of 5 Grands and 7 Premiers Crus and a new winery built in 2007. They have farmed organically since 2006 and introduced whole bunch fermentation since 2008. With wines from 23 Burgundy appellations and listings in over half of France's three-Michelin-star restaurants, David is obviously doing something right! From an exceptional vintage, this is a very fine red.

¡Hola! Mediterráneo Orange Spritz (in gift bag)

When Belgian entrepreneurs Christopher Heirwegh and Christel Weemaes moved to Barcelona over a decade ago, they had one simple dream: to grow, harvest and bottle the best cava in the world! Having achieved that, they’ve added a few more great sparklers to their range and now created the fabulous Hola Spritz in its striking bottle. The grapes may be Chardonnay and Macabeo, like a cava, but carefully blended with citrus fruits and steeped with local mountain herbs, it’s more reminiscent of famous Aperol, conveniently with the fizz already added. At 8.5% alc and with a lovely kick of orange, it’s a refreshing aperitivo por excelencia. Crisp, bright with classic bitter-sweetness, it’s ideal served with a twist of orange. Chill and sip away.
