In 1847, the people of Krondorf began a wine industry that helped lay the foundation for what the Barossa is today. RedHeads aren't shy of creating a stir, all in the name of top winemaking. And Harmonie Chardie really rocks! Since starting off in 2002, Redheads have blazed a trail to become one of Australia’s leading sustainable cellars – masters of small-batch, eco-friendly winemaking. They've won 8 trophies and over 200 Golds for their wines, including two for the debut release of Harmonie Rox. All the grapes come from grower Jack Bursten’s unique Coonawarra vineyard. It was originally planted by the late, great Wayne Stehbans – twice winner of Australia’s most prestigious wine Trophy, the Jimmy Watson. So he knew a thing or two about growing top grapes! And it really shows in the wine. Fermented in part new French oak, it's creamy, spiced and fruity.

Moonlighters captures the very essence of the RedHeads concept. Right at the beginning, when RedHeads started in the McLaren Vale, a handful of dedicated, rule-breaking, young winemakers, with a day job at the big corporations, would arrive at RedHeads studio early evening, down a cold beer, then start on crafting a ‘real’ wine, with all the unbridled passion you’d expect from the newly qualified winemaking elite. The RedHeads Moonlighters White is a beautiful blend of rich Chardonnay and aromatic Viognier, with a full nose featuring struck match characters and summer stone fruit. The textured palate hints at apricot nectar, spice and subtle nutty notes, balanced by a mouthwatering acidity.

Allinda is a tiny Yarra Valley estate, and you won't find their wines in too many places, because the quantities are so small. But when you do find them, make sure you stock up, because they are really wonderful. This sumptuous Syrah really impresses with medium to full bodied intense ripe flavour and natural acidity. Ripeness of fruit in the warmish 2016 February has lifted the flavour profile into the mulberry and plum zone so expect less white pepper than other Yarra Valley Syrahs. Allinda has kept it simple with healthy soils, healthy vines, some of the better old school practices, a dash of modern technique and a whole lotta good old winemaking sense. 2021 saw the brand new release of Sam Trimboli’s first ever Rosé – and it was a smash hit! Customers went nuts, ordering case after case after case. And it wasn’t just customers who loved this new pink, the wine show judges did too. The Pink Duck Rosé waddled away with Gold and a massive 95pt at the Royal Queensland Wine Show. The 2022 is the fresh follow up vintage of the Pink Duck – highly anticipated by many to be another showstopping blush. True to Sam’s Italian heritage, it’s made from nearly all Montepulciano with a splash of Vermentino to add extra lemony zip. A pretty hue, lovely ripe fruit and zesty freshness. No need to fly north for this one, it’s glorious drinking in any season.

Located in High Eden, a sub-region of the Barossa, approximately 550 metres above sea level, Mountadam was originally established in 1972 by the late David Wynn for his winemaking son Adam. Since 2005, it has returned to being a family owned and run winery, with David and Jenni Brown overseeing its success. With Phil Lehmann, the son of Peter Lehmann, as chief winemaker, they are going from strength-to-strength. High Eden’s chilly heights lead to harvests up to a month later than those in neighbouring Eden Valley. The result is gorgeous Cabernet like this, full of dark fruit and chocolate.
