Lake Breeze has been named Australia’s Champion Small Winery, Champion Wine four times, and boasts well over 25 trophies and 125 Golds, and has been shortlisted for Halliday's Best Value Winery of the Year. Traditional open fermentation was employed followed by maturation in French oak barriques for 20 months, prior to bottling. The wine displays a lifted aromatics of black fruits and violets, along with some cedary oak nuances. The concentrated palate showcases chocolate and cassis flavours wrapped in grippy tannins, all leading to a wonderfully long finish.

Malbec is a grape close to Sam's heart. His wife Maria, who works with him, is from Argentina, so perhaps that's not surprising. He also has a passion for th Durif grape and has done for decades. His car licence plate even reads 'DURIF'. What he loves most though is making wines that wine lovers adore. And he has been doing that for years very well indeed. The Noble One by De Bortoli is considered Australia's premier dessert wine, and for obvious reasons. The wine has won countless awards at the leading wine shows around the country and has a wonderful propensity to develop even further in the bottle. The 2002 Noble One is a classic expression of the style with rich apricot treacle characters with fig and orange blossom still active on the nose and palate. Hints of vanilla bean and a refreshing acidity on the finish mean this decade old wine will continue to live in the cellar for many years more.

2021 saw the brand new release of Sam Trimboli’s first ever Rosé – and it was a smash hit! Customers went nuts, ordering case after case after case. And it wasn’t just customers who loved this new pink, the wine show judges did too. The Pink Duck Rosé waddled away with Gold and a massive 95pt at the Royal Queensland Wine Show. The 2022 is the fresh follow up vintage of the Pink Duck – highly anticipated by many to be another showstopping blush. True to Sam’s Italian heritage, it’s made from nearly all Montepulciano with a splash of Vermentino to add extra lemony zip. A pretty hue, lovely ripe fruit and zesty freshness. No need to fly north for this one, it’s glorious drinking in any season.

The 2016 release builds on that breakthrough style - the wine shows plush generosity but there is a layering of flavours and complexity to this vintage that invites not just a second but third look. Generous, accessible primary fruit sits pretty up front but let the wine breathe and suddenly these dry, fine and lightly chewy tannins build on the back palate, lending a savoury edge to the dark fruit finish of this baby.
