Chivas Regal 18 Year Old has been created by using whiskies matured for at least 18 years which has resulted in this very special Whisky. Exceptional richness with aromas of buttery toffee, dark chocolate and dried fruit. Hints of spices and smoke combine to produce a long, warm finish.

This single malt Scotch whisky has been crafted by master distiller Jim McEwan from individually selected casks to showcase the classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style. Made from 100% Scottish barley, trickle distilled, then matured for its entire life by the shores of Lochindaal in premium American oak. Aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in sherry casks. Double Wood is an excellent example of what the Balvenie distillery can craft, even at 12 years.

This takes its inspiration from the small casks often used for Whisky in the 19th century. The relationship between barrels and the maturing spirit is critical and a small cask size gives up to 30% greater contact with wood compared to larger sizes, thus greatly intensifying the maturation process. The additional oak influence creates a soft sweetness and velvety feel when first tasted, then the intense peatiness unique to Laphroaig, comes bursting through. The finish is long and alternates between sweetness and peat.
