DOMAINE PRIEURE ROCH Vieille Vigne 1er cru, Nuits-St-Georges
Bindi Block 8 Pinot Noir
Bindi's Block 8 Pinot Noir is sourced from their newer 2016 "high-density" vineyard planting. This block is planted with 8,888 vines (composed of 7 different clones) and is the eighth block established at Bindi. It includes a section of “Crazy” 22,600 vines per hectare experimental section, truly pushing the limits of extreme viticulture. Fruit is fermented in open vats and matured in French oak barrels of which 50% are new for a period of 15-17 months.
Bannockburn Vineyards Pinot Noir
Rockburn Pinot Noir
Rockburn Pinot Noir is a ripe, fleshy pinot noir with black cherry, blackcurrant and toasty oak flavours. Good concentration and a silken texture with powerful sweet fruit flavours driving a lengthy finish.
Yarra Yering Pinot Noir
The Yarra Yering Pinot Noir is produced from what are amongst the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the Yarra Valley. Always aristocratic, fragrant with intense aromas of sweet strawberry and ripe plums, the Yarra Yering Pinot rounds out with mouthfilling notes of the same with a length hard to ignore.
William Downie Pinot Noir
Perhaps the most lifted and aromatic wine from the vintage. It shows blackberry, blackcurrant, violets, damp red earth and wood spice on the nose. The palate has more black fruit as well as spice and some herbal undergrowth. The wine is textured and long with noticeable, chewy tannin. Classic South Gippsland!
Domaine d'Eugenie Grand Cru
Clos Vougeot is renowned for being one of the finest red wines in Burgundy with superlative depth, richness and power. Domaine d'Eugenies Clos Vougeot comes off a small holding of 1.36ha within the large walled Clos Vougeot vineyard. The plot is located in one of the best positions at the top of the slope and is managed along biodynamic principles. The fruit is handpicked, 50% is then destemmed with fermentation taking place in small vessels, before undergoing maturation in approximately 90% new French oak barrels.
Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Clos du Roi
Just after Patrick Landanger purchased Pousse dOr in 1997 he sold the Santenay Les Gravières but acquired a massive 3 hectares of Corton, Clos du Roi. Half of this is leased out to Louis Latour who exploited all 3 hectares previously. Aged in French oak barrel (30% new) for 18 months with minimal sulphur addition and bottles, unfined and unfiltered, this is modern corton; relatively approachable in its youth but can be cellared long term too.
