Product Information: As always, Peggy's hill Riesling is fermented in tank and bottled to post-vintage to preserve the delicate aromatic fruit. The 2024 is stunning, fragrant and floral. Aromas of lemon and almond blossom, jasmine and finger limes leap beam from the glass. The palate is vibrant and fruit-forward with fresh lemon, lime leaf, flint and laser acidity propels the flavour for a long zestful finish. A fitting name for a landmark Riesling. This riesling takes its name from a local landmark, Peggy’s Hill, at the top of the range between the villages of Eden Valley and Keyneton. It is produced from a selection of longstanding Eden Valley riesling growers, whose vines range from 10 to 70 years of age, growing in low-vigour, ancient Cambrian soils at around 500m altitude. Peggy's Hill Riesling displays exceptional varietal and regional characteristics of lemon and lime citrus, white florals and fine acidity. Named of the sundial erected in the vineyard in 1842, Wehlener Sonnenuhr is the most famous vineyard in the Mosel. Extremely steep with optimal south-south west exposure, it yields fragrantly floral wines with ripe stone fruit aromas, underlying slately minerality and wonderful depth of flavour and structure. The Spatlese wines are very reticent in youth, blossoming between two and four years of age to display vibrant green apple, and white stone-fruit notes supported by a backbone of racy acidity.

Pressing Matters is a small, family-owned Tasmanian vineyard producing award-winning Rieslings and Pinot Noir. Although the Rieslings from Pressing Matters are influenced by Mosel styles, they are created to represent and enhance the exceptional qualities that Tasmanian Rieslings can produce. Pressing Matters R0 Riesling is an acid driven wine with almost no residual sugar – it is narrow on the palate and if people like dry white wine – this is a super-dry white wine! However the lack of sugar does not mean a lack of floral and citrus fruits on the nose and palate. Pale with green tinges. On the nose, preserved lime, dried rose petal and pear. A Cox’s orange crunch. Clean and clear palate; vibrant and juicy with great length. The R0 is a perfect complement to seafood and shellfish.

Founded by Steve Planthaber, originally from Adelaide but post school left for the South Island of New Zealand. A move to Marlborough with his partner Kirsty Sutherland cemented his love for all things wine. Hard not to be inspired when meeting the Sutherland’s who were one of the pioneers of viticulture in the region, part of the original success of Cloudy Bay followed by establishing their own estate Dog Point. Steve was keen to find his own path and after 12 years running the production and operations at Cloudy Bay decided to begin his own wine brand, Settlement. Settlement, named after the stunning Amphitheatre single vineyard site in the Omaka Valley, is dedicated entirely to the production of organic, old vine single vineyard expressions of very special sites in Marlborough. Planted in 1997 the Ashmore vineyard is located in the southern end Wairau Valley hence why it has a soil type reflecting the signature of the Southern Valleys, with silt loam soils overlying clay Although the vineyard has irrigation it’s never used, simply due to the now established 23 year old plantings and terrior. Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed to tank. Marlborough of course produces wines with naturally very high acidity (in this case a PH of 2.88) and with this in mind Steve was keen to balance this in the Riesling, finishing the ferment early to retain some residual sugar,15 grams to be exact. 12 months in bottle before release.
