Clase Azul Gold Tequila (Limited Edition)

Clase Azul is a Mexican tequila brand that has been sharing the magic of Mexican culture with the world for the past 25 years. The brand was born from a dream to showcase the beauty of Mexican traditions and land. Its iconic decanter, a unique creation made by Mexican artisans, was the starting point of this dream. The name Clase Azul, meaning blue class, was inspired by the blue agave used to make their spirits and the paint on their first Reposado decanter. Despite facing challenges such as natural disasters and financial crises, Clase Azul has stayed true to its ideals and overcome adversity. In 2007, the brand founded Tradición Mazahua, a ceramic workshop where Clase Azul artisans dedicate themselves to creating the brand's decanters as a tribute to Mexican culture. Today, Clase Azul is proud to share the magic of Mexico with more than 55 countries. The brand has transformed into Clase Azul México, but it still preserves the spirit that drives it to showcase the beauty of Mexican culture to the world. Clase Azul México aims to transcend and represent Mexican culture around the world with its exquisite creations and spaces that reveal the heart of Mexico. The agaves used for Clase Azul tequilas grow in Los Altos de Jalisco, a region of red-coloured earth that creates unique properties in the plant. To create their exquisite tequilas, Clase Azul follows a long transformation process that involves slow-cooking the agave piñas in masonry ovens, milling them to extract the sugars, fermenting them with patented yeast, and double-distilling them in copper stills. Clase Azul Tequila Plata is the unaged tequila that captures the notes of the agave, but the journey isn't over yet. The tequila is matured in casks made from oak or other types of wood, allowing it to develop a more complex profile. Clase Azul also honours the tradition of mezcal, which can be made from a wide range of agave species and reflects the soil and conditions that have nourished the agave. The artisanship found in Clase Azul's decanters is a reflection of Mexico's cultural diversity. Each decanter is a creative process that demands artistic drive, technical ability and knowledge passed down for generations. The tequila decanters tell stories through their decoration, while the mezcal decanters display caps decorated with precious artisanal techniques. In the enchanting moments before dusk, when darkness gracefully intertwines with fading light, a truly delightful ambiance emerges. It is this magical interplay that inspired the creation of Clase Azul Gold Tequila 750ml, a harmonious fusion of spirits encased within a mesmerizing glass decanter, seamlessly joined with a ceramic base reminiscent of the night sky. Clase Azul Tequila Gold is a tequila joven like no other, an extraordinary blend that marries the elegance of Clase Azul Tequila Plata with the nuanced flavors of a special reposado tequila, matured in French oak casks. To add an extra layer of complexity, an Extra Añejo tequila, aged in American whiskey casks and finished in sherry casks, is masterfully incorporated into the blend. As you pour this exquisite tequila into your glass, you are greeted by a soft amber hue, adorned with golden sparkles that dance and shimmer with every movement. Its medium body coats the palate with a luxurious texture, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable tasting experience. The aroma of Clase Azul Gold Tequila is a symphony of enticing scents. Notes of agave syrup intertwine with the vibrant freshness of green apple and the zest of orange peel. Subtle hints of fresh fig and raisins add a touch of sweetness, while a light note of almond and walnut adds depth and complexity. When it comes to taste, Clase Azul Gold Tequila unveils a captivating blend of flavors. The toasted wood imparts a warm and inviting essence, while the fig and green olive add a delightful touch of fruitiness. The subtle spiciness of ginger adds a lively kick, while the cocoa and dark chocolate notes provide a rich and indulgent finish. To truly appreciate the magnificence of Clase Azul Gold Tequila, it is recommended to pair it with seafood and fish dishes that boast a high-fat content. From succulent tuna and salmon to delectable octopus, lobster, shrimp, mussels and clams, these delicacies find their perfect complement in the buttery richness of the tequila. For a sweet finale, indulge in semi-bitter or white chocolate paired with citrus jam or citrus-infused ice cream, allowing the flavors to harmonize and delight the senses. The Clase Azul Tequila Gold decanter pushes the boundaries of what was once deemed impossible. Its shimmering glass, seamlessly fused against a black ceramic base, represents a feat of craftsmanship that took our experts six years to perfect. This innovative technique exemplifies our unwavering commitment to creating a tequila that not only tantalizes the taste buds but also captivates the eye.

Mackmyra Svensk Rok Single Malt Swedish Whisky

Launched in 2013 and now a regular bottling, this unusual release from the prodigious Swedish distillery is slightly smoky - hence the name "Svensk Rök", meaning "Swedish Smoke". Matured for an undisclosed period in a mix of 30-128 litre casks ranging from American oak, Swedish oak and ex-bourbon saturated with Oloroso, around 70% is peated. One of the tastiest expressions in the Mackmyra line up, Svensk Rok is also one of the best values, boasting melt-in-your-mouth flavours of salted citrus and vanilla along with all the sweet'n'smokey notes you'd expect, but with a twist: Mackmyra employ juniper branches to dry some of the malt, which makes sense, as juniper has been used to season food in Sweden for generations. It comes through at the finish as hints of menthol tobacco, smouldering potpourri and pine. The result is a distinctive local take on Scottish peated styles that really works. 46.1% Alc./Vol.
