Four Roses Black Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon is one of two Four Roses products that are sold only in Japan, with the other being Four Roses Super Premium. While this may seem odd, it is important to note that in February 2002, the Kirin Brewery Company of Japan purchased the Four Roses brand trademark from Diageo. Available only in the Japanese market, Four Roses Black Label is a blend of 1/2 OE and 1/2 OB mash bills and is a blend of bourbons aged up to 10 years. This Single Malt from Akashi was aged 4 and a half years in cognac barrels followed by a further 10 month maturation white wine barrels from the Akashi vineyard located in Yamanashi county in Japan. The resulting whisky has floral and white fruit notes. No colouring or cold filtration. Located in the city of Akashi in the Hyogo Prefecture, by the seaside of the Seto Island Sea is the White Oak Distillery. This distillery was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo and has been producing Sake and Shochu every since. In 1919, Eigashima Shuzo obtained a license to manufacture whisky and when the company moved to their current facilities in 1984, the White Oak Distillery was born.

At the distillery of the Tsililis family, near Meteora Rocks, Tsilili Tsipouro is produced from aromatic varieties and distilled in small copper-stainless steel pot stills. Crystal-bright in appearance, with intense fruity aromas of citrus fruits like bergamot and lemon, white peach, floral notes of rose and herbal hints of mint. On the palate, it is smooth and aromatic with soft alcohol a long minty finish. It can be drunk on its own as well as it pairs well with entrees and finger food but it is also a base spirit for inspired cocktails.

This is Mars Komagatake Single Malt ‘Wine Cask Finish’ was produced in collaboration with Voyager Estate from the famous Margaret River region located in Western Australia. Only 924 bottles have been produced. This is the 2nd collaboration and this special whisky is sold only in Australia and Japan. This Single Malt was distilled at Mars Shinshu Distillery in 2016 in Nagano Prefecture and matured in a bourbon barrel for more than 3 years. It was then aged for another 15 months in French Troncais oak. This oak cask was previously used to age Voyager Estate’s flagship red wine, their ‘MJW’ Cabernet Sauvignon, and was sent to Japan in early 2020 once the wine came out of the cask. This special whisky shows the harmony between the world of whisky and wine. The attractive pale red rose colour is evidenced from red wine cask, fruity notes on the aroma with grapes, berry, pomegranate. Elegant smooth mouthfeel with grape fruit character. The finish is long, viscous umami, and well balanced with sweetness.

Clear slivovitz is the most famous Czech fruit spirit, which Rudolf Jelínek has been producing in Vizovice from only the best plum mash since the 19th century. The production processes are passed down from generation to generation among their distillers, and, together with the latest technologies, they guarantee the highest quality. This slivovitz is made by triple distilling a ripe plum mash. The plum pits remain in the mash the entire time to infuse the resulting beverage with tannins to give it its specific flavour. The distillation is followed by ageing process in tanks, during which time the beverage is kept at a variety of temperatures and regularly checked and evaluated by experienced Vizovice’s distillers. Genuine Jelínek slivovitz is first and foremost the result of their hard work, experience, and patience. Its scent carries a sweet hint of the plum pits, which does not overwhelm its fruity character. Its ageing and traditional production methods lend slivovitz its delicate taste and mild aroma.

The artwork tells the story of jimadors working in the agave fields. Within the designs, ‘coas de jima’, which translates to hoes for harvesting, are reflected prominently to explore the experience of farmers and how they know what agave to select in order to produce the best tequila.
