Domaine Alphonse Mellot Sancerre Generation Dix-Neuf

Biodynamic. Together with its sister-in-arms Cuvée Edmond, Dix-Neuf is the antithesis of modern, ‘textbook’ Sancerre. This jaw-dropping Sancerre is drawn from the oldest vines in the Moussière vineyard (approximately 100 years of age), cropped at Grand Cru Burgundy-level yields (in fact the lower end of this range). The wine was fermented and raised in 2,000-litre, tronconique wooden tanks for 12 months before a spell in steel on lees. Only 500 cases per year get to see the light of day.

Theo Dancer Vin de France Jurassique Savagnin

Théo Dancer is the ambitious and tallented winemaker now heading up the family Domaine Vincent Dancer winery based in Chassagne-Montrachet. Like his father before him, Théo studied at Lycée Viticole de Beaune while working with his father part-time. He joined the domaine full-time in 2021 and is already making a significant impact. In addition to his work with his father, Théo has also taken on an exciting new project in the Mâconnais (Roc Breïa) as well as starting his own micro-négoce, sourcing fruit from several exciting vineyards across northern France. Dancer now sources his Savagnin from a conscientious farmer in Rotalier, the same town as Gavenat and Julien Labet. The vines sit on chalk clay over Bajocian limestone subsoil. Emphasising purity and terroir rather than flor-aging notes, the winemaking involves direct pressing into large oak barrels, with no racking until the completion of fermentation, followed by a settling period in stainless-steel tanks before bottling.

Devaux Cuvee D Non-Vintage

Gold yellow colour with a delicate and persistant mousse. Smell of white blossom and soft spices, mellowed by notes of toasted brioche and vanilla on the finish. A deliciously fresh and creamy champagne of great persistence.

Devaux Blanc de Noir Coeur des Bar Non-Vintage

Bright and intense gold colour. A fresh, rich and powerful nose reavels aromas of ripe fruits.Perfect harmony between the expressive notes of fruits, with a refined and fresh finish. A sensation of meaty, fullness and depth remind the rooting of vines in the terroir of the Côte des Bar.

Devaux Coeur De Nature Organic Non-Vintage

Very fresh nose, reminiscent of biscuits. Good maturity, with aromas of bergamot, dried apricots and dried flowers. A tonic and slightly saline attack in the mouth. A crisp, and crunchy wine, reminiscent of ripe flesh such as Anjou pear and tangerine, with notes of white flowers. A fresh and very salivating finish.
