Château Vieux Gadet

Cia' Ludo Montepulciano

In a region famous for both its azure-lined Adriatic coast and snow-capped mountains, Abruzzo, you'll find the inspiring young winemaker, Ludo to her friends. You'll usually see her on her bike, pedalling the hills between vineyards, waving 'cia' - hello and goodbye – to those she passes. This is her homeland, so she knows it well, loves it, too. Trebbiano is her (and Abruzzo's) white grape of choice, making vibrant, lemon and lime-fresh white. For reds, her passion is the Abruzzo hero Montepulciano – that bright, plum-filled, all velvety-supple character, the reds of which are deliciously moreish, especially in the able hands of Ludo. A great all-round red. In summer, try it lightly chilled. Raise a glass, remember her name. Cia' Ludo!

Fluette Gamay

Gamay isn't local to southwest France, but was introduced there in 1970 to soften some of the beefier, tannic native grapes. And it's made itself feel right at home, as you'll notice with our lovely new-release Fluette. It's made by the exceptionally talented Jean-Noël Barrau at a multi-award-winning cellar in Gaillac. The Gamay vineyards lie on terraces perched above the River Tarn, not far from Toulouse and Albi. The sandy gravel soil there lends the wine a lovely freshness to balance the silky ripeness of the fruit. So delicious and easy is it, that on hot summer days you could cool it down a little. The perfect red to sip on its own, or share over a lunchtime chat – It'll slip down well with chicken, creamy brie-like cheeses or with noodle stir-fry.

Purezza Organic Red

If you ask the locals they’ll say Nero di Troia produces some of the best and most interesting wines in Puglia, lending spiced black fruit notes and fresh aromas of violet. The small portion of Primitivo adds depth and structure to this organic wine. Open a bottle and enjoy its easy-going character with tomato pasta or cheeses. The family-run team at Torrevento in Puglia like to let their vineyards run a little wild – in the best sense – for a healthy biodiversity means healthy vines. Since their beginnings in 1948, they’ve aimed to showcase the best of Puglia’s native grape varieties in the most authentic way. Purezza is their blend of Nero di Troia and Primitivo – the two most dominant indigenous red grapes in this sun-blessed area.

La Vieille Ferme Cotes du Ventoux Rouge

From the world-famous Chateau de Beaucastel, this medium-bodied, Southern Rhone red is packed with juicy red berry fruits and savoury complexity. Finishing dry, it's a winner with grilled meats.

Hickinbotham The Peake Cabernet Shiraz

A luxurious combination of soft ripe autumn berries with fresh cool country cherries, this wine exemplifies the harmony that can be achieved by blending these two noble grapes together. The wine has an unctuous elegance that caresses the palate with a structure that is exceeded only in its width by its length. Still a youthful creature, this wine will age gracefully for decades to come. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (57%) and Shiraz (43%). Sourced from 1971 (100%) planted on the Estate. All batches were fermented separately and blended prior to bottling. These batches of Cabernet and Shiraz represent the pinnacle wines from the Estate, our vision is to produce a seamless integration of the best of both varieties, with great aging potential. The winemaking follow suit from the previous wines, this wine is about the best blocks of the vintage and best barrels being carefully blended. Rack and returned three times during the maturation of 15 months 100% new oak, Shiraz Burgundy coopered French oak, Cabernet Bordeaux coopered French oak Alan Hickinbotham established the vineyard bearing his name in 1971 when he planted dry- grown cabernet sauvignon and shiraz in contoured rows on the sloping site. He was a very successful builder, this his first venture into wine, but his father, Alan Robb Hickinbotham, had a long and distinguished career, co-founding the oenology diploma at Roseworthy in 36. In 2012 Clarendon, and the stately sandstone house on the property, was purchased by Jackson Family Wines; it is run as a separate business from Yangarra Estate Vineyard, with different winemaking teams and wines. The Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard covers a steep cut of country from the ridgetops above the village of Clarendon to the Onkaparinga River in the gorge below. Since its establishment in 1971, the Hickinbotham vineyard has become a part of Australias wine heritage, supplying fruit to produce many of Australias greatest wines. The Clarendon Vineyard has sold select parcels to Penfolds for Grange and to Hardys for their equivalent white flagship, the Eileen Hardy Chardonnay.
