This Heirloom Vineyards Eden Valley Shiraz has lifted red fruit signature of Eden Shiraz, but its site also offers some very unique and distinctive aromas of blackberry and intriguing notes of a spice, and the perfume of blueberries. The palate is cool, fresh and light, but persistently fruity and very zingy. The finish is fine, natural and unforced. It's a delicious, confident drink. There is some cream and spice from the French Oak but it's all about the pure fruit.

Pinotage defines the unique character of South African reds with its smoky berry character, while Shiraz adds a little more spicy oomph. In Grill House, Trophy winning Gerhard Swart has created a gorgeous, punchy rich red – but then he is known locally as ‘King of Pinotage’. As the name suggests, it's looking for a grill or barbecue (or 'braai' as the South Africans would say).

The inaugural release of this wine from Juniper, it's a great example of Cabernet's ability to be powerful yet finely-structured and elegant at the same time. Superb.Deep ruby purple. Expressive dark fruit, cassis, toast and exotic spices. Intense blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, fine-grained tannins, hints of baked earth, cassis, espresso and graphite, and lovely charry oak.
