Torbreck The Steading
The 2015 Steading has a fragrancy, purity of fruit, mid-palate concentration and savoury tannin profile that makes it an exemplary wine. Vibrant aromas of violet, star anise hints of violet and spice all unfold to reveal an impressive array of underlying fruit flavours. Silky, succulent dark fruits, black olive, savoury earth, liquorice and Asian spice. These complex yet elegant flavours are all neatly interwoven with a perfect balance of acidity and supple, silky tannins. The 2015 Steading will continue to develop with time in the cellar, and provide those with patience great enjoyment well into the next decade.
Yangarra High Sands Grenache
A brooding and strongly varietal grenache style showing concentrated dark cherry, tobacco, spice, iron and raspberry fruits. Full-bodied, dry and firm on the palate with significant tannins well supported by complex fruit, it finishes long and robust, typical of classic Grenache.
Penfolds St Henri Shiraz
Proudly, a wine style that hasn’t succumbed to the dictates of fashion or commerce. St Henri is rich and plush when young, gaining soft, earthy, mocha-like characters as it ages. It is matured in old, 1,460 litre vats that allow the wine to develop, imparting minimal, if any oak character. Although a small proportion of Cabernet is sometimes used to improve structure, the focal point for St Henri remains Shiraz.
Château Mont-Redon Lirac
The Standish Lamella Shiraz
Product Description: The pinnacle of Eden Valley Shiraz, forged from legacy and precision. Lamella is the flagship Shiraz from Dan Standish, a sixth-generation Barossan and one of Australia’s most exacting winemakers. Sourced exclusively from the Angas family vineyard at Hutton Vale Farm in Eden Valley, the fruit comes from vines planted in the early 1960s using cuttings from the famed Mt Edelstone vineyard. This site, perched between Mt Edelstone and Hill of Grace, is one of the most prized in the country—and Lamella is its purest expression. Crafted entirely from whole bunches and fermented in small open oak vats, the 2021 vintage shows remarkable finesse and structure. Cool conditions delivered a wine of rare clarity and poise: jasmine tea, graphite, bergamot, and star anise float above layers of pomegranate, sage, and black tea. Each parcel is vinified separately, allowing Dan to make ruthless selections—up to 80% of fruit can be declassified—ensuring only the most compelling barrels are bottled. This is a wine of grand architecture and long cellaring potential. Best from 2027, but its dense core of black fruits, spice and fine-grained tannin will carry it through to 2043 with ease. Pair it with chargrilled meats, aged cheeses, or nothing at all—Lamella can speak for itself. Tasting Notes NOSE – Exotic spice and florals Jasmine tea, bergamot and graphite rise from the glass with raspberry, star anise and citrus blossom.
