Brave Souls is the creation of young winemaker Julia Weirich, in collaboration with Simon Cowham and Corey Ryan of Sons of Eden. German in heritage but gypsy at heart, she has worked all over the world, honing her skills in wineries including Bass Phillip in Australia, Yealands in New Zealand, Le Grappin in Burgundy and Mulderbosch in South Africa. Upon her return to Australia, Julia set upon a plan to make wine for herself. Having known her for some time, Simon & Corey, the well-known dynamic team behind Sons of Eden, stepped in to help Julia realise this great adventure in the Barossa Valley. The name, Brave Souls, is inspired by the story of the famous Admella shipwreck of 1859 and spotlights the remarkable accounts of those characters who risked their lives to help the survivors. Iconic Australian artist Bruce Goold generously agreed to visualise the tales of these Brave Souls for the project’s labels. The Grenache is sourced from two, 90+ year-old vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Both are positioned in the Southern Barossa Valley between Lyndoch and Rowland Flat in the foothills of the Barossa Ranges. Ideally positioned in full sunlight during the day and benefiting from cooling gully winds in the late afternoon, the vineyards consistently produce exceptional fruit, with the 2022 vintage classed as outstanding. The Grenache was handpicked and predominantly destemmed, with 15% of whole bunch contribution. After a brief cold-soak period, the fruit was allowed to warm naturally to start fermentation. Hand plunged daily, helped to manage the temperature exchange and the gentle extraction of the tannins . After 20-days on skins the fermenters were pressed to large seasoned oak barrels for a 12-month maturation. Post maturation the wine was racked to blend, naturally clarified and then bottled. Bright ruby in colour, with a vibrant bouquet of mixed wild berries, red-liquorice spice and a hint of confectionary. The palate displays a fresh vibrancy and richness with seamless supporting tannins, and finishes with excellent balance and length.

Produced from low yielding, hand harvested vines and made using traditional techniques, D'Arry's Original is a smooth, textured, full bodied red which typifies the generous McLaren style. Always one of those little cellar stars that you can buy up a case or two, hide under the house for a decade and be quietly content that d'Arry's Original will be shining in a decade.

On the nose, black raspberry fruits with hints of smoky tobacco. The palate follows with densely packed, plush red fruits with lashings of all spice and white pepper. Tannins are soft and sleek. Lively, raspberry, spicy. Picked between 13.5 14.5 Baume. 7-day ferment on skins, then gently pressed. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Storage in oak for 6 months combination of 1 to 3-year-old French and American oak then, blended and bottle. Shiraz South Australia's first vineyards were established in the 1830's. Enjoying a wide range of climates including the cool temperatures of the Adelaide Hills, to the hot summer weather of the Barossa Valley, South Australia is arguably Australia's most diverse wine producing state.It is from these wonderfully diverse regions that winemaker Marty O'Flaherty selects the best varietals to produce Mojo wines. Marty's resounding philosophy is "wine should tell a story about the terroir in which it's grown, needing lots of love but minimal handling by allowing the growers to do what they do best."

Aromas of violets, spice, ripe blueberries and boysenberry, with hints of mocha oak. The palate shows fresh fruits of red cherry, fresh cranberries with savoury chalky tannins which give length and finesse.

Bests Great Western Bin No.1 Shiraz is a classic, cool-climate and aromatic Shiraz which flaunts a very dark red colour with garnet hues. The wine's perfumed bouquet lifts with aromas of red plums, exotic spices, black olives and black jubes, along with nutty notes. On the palate, flavours of juicy and dark red fruits fill the mouth. Powdery tannins provide a rich and ripe medium-bodied texture, leading to a long finish. This well balanced, award-winning Victorian Shiraz is a great match with dishes like slow cooked lamb leg and spring lamb.

Specializing in promoting Calabrian wines cultivated from some of the oldest native vines in the world, Cantine Lavorata has expanded its investment in production and vineyards to other localities, including Sicily, cementing their commitment to sharing the rich heritage and exceptional flavours of their land through the art of winemaking. The Cantine Lavorata Anfisya Rosso 2022, bearing the typical geographical indication of Calabria, is a captivating blend of Calabrese, Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera grapes sourced from the southern area of Calabria, overlooking the Ionian Sea, at an elevation of 300-350 meters above sea level in clayey-calcareous soil. The hand-harvested grapes undergo red vinification with cold fermentation, resulting in a visually striking ruby red wine with purple reflections, offering an intense, complex and fine aroma characterized by fruity scents of mulberries, plums, blackcurrants and cherries, complemented by floral notes of tulip, alongside mineral and vegetal nuances. On the palate, it delivers a dry, warm and soft experience, with good freshness, moderate tannins and a well-balanced, full-bodied flavour profile, culminating in an intense, persistent, fine and harmonious development, encapsulating the essence of its geographical origin. Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine is an historic winery that produces high quality Veneto and Italian wines and one of the main players in the Italian and international wine market. A family passion. A century long history. This intense red wine is the result of strict grape selection in the finest vineyards of the Veneto and of Friuli. Pasqua Merlot Trevenezie IGT displays inviting scents of blackcurrants with hints of plums and herbaceous notes. On the palate it has particularly rounded fruit, underpinned by velvety tannins and with great length and persistence. Pair this wine with savoury pasta dishes, red meat and fresh cheeses.
