The Winemaking: Once harvested the fruit was crushed and pressed; the juice was cold settled and racked to ferment. The ferment was carried out with selected yeast and stopped with some residual sugar. Post fermentation the wine was stabilised, clarified and bottled. With Food: Enjoy with matured cheeses and spicy Asian dishes.

Poured into a wine glass, this white wine displays an exceptionally pale straw appearance which is accompanied by vibrant green hues. A swirl of the glass exhibits rich citrus and floral aromas with a touch of passionfruit. Spicy undertones complete the fruity nose and pave the way for a seamless palate which opens with pear and grapefruit flavours. Sherbet characters follow and the wine ends in a long finish, marked by citrus acidity. Enjoy this wine within 2 to 3 years from vintage to make the most of its youthful flavours. Alternately, it can be cellared for up to 15 years for more complex and toasty characters.

Tasting Notes: Pineapple, nectarine and lime aromatics along with lengthy butterscotch and biscotti flavours. A well-structured wine to be enjoyed from now to 2020.

A brilliant, exceptionally pale straw colour with youthful green tinges. The wine exhibits pungent spicy blossom and hints of stone fruits enhanced by an underlying citrus vibrancy. A seamless palate, with initial flavours of passionfruit and mandarin leading to a spicy mid-palate with richer hints of mango sorbet finishing with classic mouth-watering lemons and limes. Established in 1988 in Denmark, Western Australia, Harewood Estate was bought by ex-Howard Park winemaker, James Kellie, and his family in 2003. Since then, the winery has moved forward in leaps and bounds. It has garnered many favourable reviews from renowned wine critics whilst collecting a swag of wine show medals and trophies along the way. Kellie prides himself on delving into the true expression of the Great Southerns sub-regions of Denmark, Porongurup, Frankland River and Mount Barker using grape varietals such as Riesling, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. This stunning wine is named after the landmark Split Apple Rock in Abel Tasman National Park, where Hermann Seifried built a winery in 1973 with the help of his local church. He'd only arrived in New Zealand three years earlier from Austria, via Germany (where he studied winemaking) and South Africa. He married Kiwi lass Agnes Wilkins, and two years later they realised their shared dream of growing grapes. 1976 was their maiden vintage and more than 30 years on the Seifrieds are still going strong and racking up a host of awards. Gooseberry fresh Split Rock slips down a treat on its own and partners dishes such as spicy prawns, grilled chicken or creamy pasta.

The grapes for this lipsmacking wine are grown in Orange, 950 metres above sea level. This crisp, cold, but sunny climate is the perfect place to grow Riesling. Low temperatures retain varietal vibrancy and minerality while the sunshine drives the production of rich tropical fruit, resulting in a wine of immense flavour and character.
