Te Mata Estate Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc

Seppelt Great Western Riesling

A cool winter with good early rainfall was followed by warm, dry spring conditions, resulting in excellent fruit set. Summer temperatures were average to warm, with persistent fine conditions and little rain, resulting in above-average yields and exceptional quality. Aromas of lime zest and white flowers combined with spiced pear. The palate shows lemon-lime fruit and red apple with a hint of spiced ginger. Textural elements combined with chalky acid result in a wine with balance and delicacy.

Tony Bish Golden Egg Chardonnay

Rich, creamy and quite concentrated chardonnay with peach, hazelnut, bran biscuit and savoury, nutty yeast lees flavours. A seamless and satisfying wine that is deliciously approachable now but promises to age well. Alcohol: 13%. Closure: screwcap. Drink: 2019-2024. Rating: 95/100.

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay

Domaine Michelot 1er cru

This wine is made from two parcels which are found on the border of the communes of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The first, which is to the left of the Clos des Perrières, has clay/limestone soil and a subsoil of volcanic rock which allows a healthy root system to develop in this limestone-rich environment. The second is on the upper slope and overlooks the Perrières quarry. Here the soil is heavily limestone, partly as marl and partly as white rock. This is interesting for the way it brings mineral notes to the wine. During tastings it often find notes of white pepper and other spices both on the nose and on the palate.

Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay

Since the early 90's, Penfolds have been producing Chardonnay from the cool climate region of Tumbarumba. The Chardonnay is elegant with white florals, stone fruits and a great acidity structure. Maturation in French Oak gives the Bin 311 a subtle nutty savoury flavour through and through. A great all season wine for all sorts of occasions.

By Meurgey-Croses, Saint-Veran

Saint-Véran is a village appellation at the southern tip of the Mâconnais area. This AOC which surrounds Pouilly-Fuissé was created in 1971 and includes the villages of Saint-Vérand, Leynes, Prissé, Davayé, Chasselas and Chânes The Saint-Véran Villages sees a small portion (around 20%) of 228 litre oak barrel fermentation with the lions share being in tank. The smaller format oak (than used for the Meurgey-Croses Viré-Clessé) carries a little more influence and theres a note of smokiness to go along with the volume and minerality. I look for precision, purity and freshness of the wines- Pierre Meurgey Shop Meurgey-Croses

Domaine Du Roc Des Boutires En Bertilionne

Domaine du Roc Des Boutires En Bertilionne , Pouilly-Fuissé The fruit is sourced exclusively from En Bertilionne, located in the southern end of Burgundy. 0.57 hectares of limestone with shoals of marl, very deep chalk. The old vines (35-years), or vielles vignes, of Chardonnay are planted at an altitude of between 250 and 500 meters, which is quite high compared to other AOC Burgundies. The result is mature, well-positioned vines producing fruit that creates wines of complexity and freshness.
