Eden Valley’s Mountadam Vineyards was established in 1972 and is nestled on a unique rocky outcrop ranging in elevation up to 550m. The vineyards were founded by David Wynn, who is credited with several milestones in winemaking, including the creation of the wine cask and planting the first contour vineyard in Australia. “More concentrated. Michael Fragos grew up in McLaren Vale, and spent 14 years at Tatachilla before taking over at Chapel Hill in 2004. A three-time ‘Bushing King’, Michael has also been named best winemaker on the planet! James Halliday notes that his “wine quality is unfailingly excellent” . This one has an expressive nose of blackcurrant, bay leaf cigar box and chocolate. The palate is medium to full-bodied, beautifully structured, with a powerful complexity, fine-grained tannins, velvety texture and long, long finish.

The 2021 vintage had Gold and a Trophy, so buckle in for 2022. Produced from hand-selected fruit from top McLaren Vale vineyards, The Black Pig Shiraz leaps from the glass with sumptuous, rich and ripe blackcurrant tones and vanilla snippets. Oozing lashings of cedar, ripe berries and hints of chocolate this stunning Shiraz is the kind of wine that can drink now with ease, or be laid down for another 8 or so years.
