Paul & Meg Gamay
Gamay is the ultimate juicy red and this wine is no different, loaded with ripe red fruit flavours and an alluring, lifted floral note of rose petal or violet, this wine will not disappoint. This wine, grown in the South of France, complements the bright and floral palate with soft tannins and succulent acidity to round things out. Because of the high natural acidity of this Gamay, paired with low tannin, it pairs incredibly well with a very wide array of foods. Try it even with fish dishes!
Mildara Cabernet Sauvignon
Packed full of mint, blackcurrants, spice and cedary oak, this wine is indicative of how a great the 2004 vintage was. Drinking beautifully now.
Oyster Bay Rose
New from Oyster Bay, summer cherry and fragrant blossom notes with a burst of red berries and a lively citrus zest and lingering freshness.
Guillaume Gonnet Le Petit Reveur Grenache CDR
Le Petit Reveur (the little dreamer) is a blend of 85% grenache and 15% syrah hand picked from 40 to 45 year old vines in the Rhone Valley. This delightful example of a Cotes du Rhone red exhibits crème de cassis, cherries, and a lovely note of licorice on the palate, mixed with pepper and Asian spices. Imagine yourself enjoying this wine with a lovely mixed plate of charcuterie and cheese, a gourmet pizza or something a little different like Peking duck pancakes. Yum!
Marsc Wine Co. McLaren Vale Grenache
Grenache is enjoying a well-deserved moment, with a new generation of talented Aussie winemakers delivering deliciously fresh, approachable wines. This McLaren Vale Grenache is a superb example, from the exciting small-batch project Marsc Wine Co. Bringing acclaimed winemakers and prestige vineyards together covertly under a ‘masked’ label, they’re able to deliver great quality wines for brilliantly low prices. We can’t reveal who made this Grenache, but we can say that they have picked up some of Australia’s highest winemaking honours – namely, TWO Bushing Kings and a Jimmy Watson.
Fat Bastard Shiraz
Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz
Barossa Merchants Co Barossa Valley Shiraz
This classic Shiraz with a deep red hue and aromas of dark berries, cinnamon and spice notes envelopes the palate with rich plum and red currant fruits. Subtle spicy oak notes round out the flavour, for a smooth long finish and silky tannins.
Lulu Le Francais Pinot Noir
Lulu le Français is an original creation, inspired by the relaxed summer atmosphere. The brand embodies the South of France way of living, where life is sweet and sunny. The vineyards are located on the west part of the Languedoc wine region, on temperate terroirs, thanks to the influence of Pyrenean mountains and ocean breezes from the Atlantic. The grapes are harvested quite early in the season. The wine shows glossy red ruby in the glass. The nose displays aromas of ripe plum, raspberry jam and a hint of leather. Good concentration and depth of flavour show proudly on the palate, with velvety tannins and a smooth structure.
Barón de Barbón Oak Aged Rioja
Vintage after vintage, Barón de Barbón proves to be our bestselling Rioja. It’s a lot to do with the wine’s enticing berry aromas, silky texture and luscious flavour. The talent behind this contemporary, fruit driven red is the young and infectiously keen Javier Murúa. His father Julián owns Bodegas Muriel (a winery Julián’s parents established in 1926) in Rioja’s superior Alavesa. We have a fabulous working relationship with the family, ensuring our Buyer Beth goes in straight after vintage and gets first refusal on the finest vats. With its easy going, ripe red berry flavours and fragrant vanilla character, this supple Rioja is great to drink on its own or with simple suppers such as lamb chops, char-grilled vegetable kebabs or chicken.
