The Bourgogne Chardonnay is a step up from our delightful Cave de Lugny Macon Villages - it is a perfectly balanced wine, with only a portion aged in oak to give structure and aromatic complexity. The nose has subtle citrus, honey and hazelnut notes. The palate delivers a rich stonefruit complexity with an elegant, fresh finish. Located in the heart of Burgundy, the village of Lugny is surrounded by great Chardonnay vineyards. The Chardonnay has a brilliant pale straw hue, the nose has lifted peach and nectarine balanced by subtle toasty char and spice from oak fermentation and maturation. The palate has a rich and creamy texture with flavours of freshly picked white nectarine, rockmelon and hints of lemon citrus finishing with a crisp, dry and lingering acidity balanced with a touch of toasty oak complexity.
